My severe complaint has to do with the title versus the content of this book. As I happen to be very familiar with Johann Winckelmann's work directly from the German, I am astonished at the title chosen for the book. It has nothing to do with Winckelmann's work that is totally focused on the Art of Antiquity, archaeology and German aesthetic philosophy, not even the most meagre reference is there to anything of that. Was the author drunk? What about the publisher, all illiterate? I find no excuse, those who read Johann Winckelmann are not the most unlettered.
