Great burner
Bought this burner to convert my wood pellet Dellonda pizza oven to gas, with a custom designed bracket I designed and had fabricated. Worked flawlessly. Update: I’m now on my THIRD burner, with the piezo ignitor failing on the previous two, simply would not ignite the gas, had to resort to matches, far from ideal. Hopefully won’t need a fourth!!

A must have
The wood fired pizza is good but it's more for special occasions.. this makes pizza making a walk in the park hot temperature all the time, you need this.

Essential for your Ooni Karu 16!
This is an essential addition to your Ooni Karu 16. The Karu 16 is a great pizza oven - probably Ooni's best since it has a larger internal oven height, air temperature thermometer to help get top and bottom of pizza cooking roughly at the same speed, etc. And of course it's multi fuel giving you the flexibility to get the challenge and taste of wood fired cooking or charcoal cooking. However, it's missing one essential component out of the box, and that's the gas burner attachment. Coming from the Koda 16 (which is a gas oven) I really missed the convenience of just being able to flick a switch and let the fire burn away without having to keep a continual eye on the fire and timing each new pizza carefully after topping up the wood logs. However, I really do love the Karu 16's size and the fact I now have a wood fired option when I have the time to enjoy doing that. This is where adding the gas burner is a no brainer. It's ideal for weekday evening pizzas, or when you have firends around for pizzas since it's a case of switching on and leaving it to do it's thing, and usually allows you to cook pizzas back to back quicker since the wood fire will naturally wax and wane as the logs burn increasing the time spent between each pizza being able to be cooked. The consistency of the gae flame allows you to concentrate on creating pizzas for friends, or just being handier when doing last minute pizzas and perhaps the weather isn't 100%. It also saves you worrying about always having a supply of logs and kindling ready to use since these are not always handy to purchase. The burner goes through about 0.6Kg of propane (patio gas) per hour which is enough to cook between 5 and 10 pizzas depending on how quickly you can prep and launch your pizzas.Gas also gives you that fine control of the flame in an instant, whereas with the logs you are somewhat having to do this by carefully monitoring the fire and adding new fuel as and when it's needed.Overall it makes the oven the complete experience where you can take time and enjoy tending to a real wood fire, or go for the more convenient option of firing up the gas and just getting on with cooking pizzas. If you currently own a Karu 16 then this should be on your purchase list! I truely enjoy using the wood to bake pizzas as I enjoy the whole wood fired pizza cooking experience, but I also enjoy using the gas since it is so convenient, produces nearly identical results to wood, and doesn't create any black soot in the oven to clean up afterwards. Highly recommended.
