Surfside 6 - Behind the Scenes in Miami Beach Paperback – 7 February 2022

Met the author at the Hollywood Show 3 weekends ago. A very nice guy! I didn't buy the book there, but instead enjoyed chatting with him about his research & writing and about one of "Surfside 6's" co-stars, the late actor Lee Patterson (also best known for his role as "Joe Riley" in "One Life To Live"). "Surfside 6 - Behind the Scenes in Miami Beach" is a great read! Absolutely love it! Highly recommended to all!

I never thought I would see a book devoted to Surfside Six, largely forgotten now except by people who study classic TV shows, or else those aged around 70 who may have watched the series when it was first transmitted. It has since been shown on the Goodlife TV channel several years ago, but it is not on DVD, and, I would think, is unlikely to receive such a release. So all credit to the author. The plot of each episode is described briefly, but the real value of the book is the up-to-the-minute profiles of many guest stars - information which cannot easily be sourced elsewhere, unless you want to spend many hours on the internet. Now can the same treatment be afforded to its sister show, 77 Sunset Strip, which I think might be remembered by a slightly larger number of people.

I had heard of Surfside 6 but have never seen an episode but being interested in american tv shows of the sixties decided to buy it and was really pleased. Very informative about how it was created and the Warner brothers set up at the time, the actors involved and a full detailed episode guide. Very interesting. I just wish it was possible to see an episode but it is not even on dvd!
