Worked great for me. Have Test Data.
So my problem was that I have a router upstairs that covers only about half my house well.In the downstairs bathroom and basement which is pretty much on the other side of the house the signal is poor.I can load stuff but barley as the signal strength fluctuates between 1 to two bars. I needed something to help with the coverage area.I looked into a repeater but as far as I could tell that would mean having a separate access point I'd need to connect to in order to use it.That is where this came into play. It was/is supposed to be mesh compatible which means it should be able to boost strength while still keeping the access point as one wifi network. However I was worried as when I looked through other reviews people said it wasn't and would only act as a repeater.I can say that isn't true, at least in my case. All I had to do was press the WPS button on the AX1800 Extender until it started searching for the router, then press the WPS button on the router. It took a couple minutes but the AX1800 Extender synced to my router and it was done. No issues at all. No additional setup. And it was acting as a mesh network meaning that there was still only one access point that now had better coverage because of the Extender repeating the signal. My single went from 1 maybe 2 bars to full now in most of the low signal areas I had before! Now there is a caveat to this which is that the AX1800 Extender and my router the LT18 both are Cudy devices. And based on that they should work well together. But to my understanding the Mesh feature may only work right on certain routers brands even if they are supposed to be compatible with Mesh Networking because of how companies handle/implement it in different ways sometimes.I am not 100% sure though, it's just something I've heard. What I know though is this worked great for my Cudy router. Signal strength shot up and covers my whole house now. I of course tested the speeds which I will post here too in a convenient image table. But to summarize 2.4GHz without the Extender on average got 11.31mbps Download, 0.386mbps Upload and 98 Ping in my basement. With the Extender 2.4GHz got 14.92 DL, 2.322 UpL, and 95.8 ping. (For ping lower is better.)That means the speeds are 131.91% and 601.55% for Down and Up load. And 97.76% of the ping which lower is better. That is a significant improvement. Especially the Upload which was almost non-existent before. Not only that but in general across the test the speeds stayed much more stable and consistent instead bouncing high and low constantly.I also did a test with 5GHz. Normally the 5GHz wouldn't even reach the testing area hence why I don't have any 5GHz data for the 5GHz no Extender test. But with the Extender the now usable 5GHz averaged 19.76 Down, 2.098 Up and 101.4 Ping. That is compared to the 2.4GHz without an Extender is 174.71% down, 543.52% up and 103.47% Ping. The Download speed on the 5GHz is the fastest of all! However, though the upload speed is leagues faster than the 2.4GHz without the extender it is notably slower than the 2.4GHz network with the Extender.Additionally the ping is slightly higher on the 5GHz extended network than the 2.4GHz with or without the Extender.Overall though seeing as the 5GHz didn't even make it that far before and it was now a fast and usable network leaves me happy.I really can't complain about this device, for me it just worked. I hope I may be able to run a wired connection to it from my router at some point as I believe it supports lan to wifi repeating/mesh too but am not sure yet.Anyways, as I said I am happy.A couple of tips:-This Extender does support mesh, but may or may not work right unless you specifically use a Cudy brand router with it.-If using this to grab and extend wifi then you need to put the extender in between the device(s) you are trying to boost for and the router. Not beyond them or next to them. For example imagine you have 3 rooms... Room 1, 2 and 3.They look like this:[1][2][3]The router is in room 1, and you're trying to boost the signal in room 3. You'd put this extender in room 2, NOT room 3 or further. You want it in-between the device and the router.Reason being is this device can only repeat the signal that reaches it. The farther you move it away from the router the worse the signal it can gather and the worse the connection will be even though it may show fuller wifi bars (as that's only the strength of connection to the Extender, not the internet speed or quality.)So in other words if you put it in room 3 with your device though the signal strength might SEEM stronger, the ethernet quality and speed will be much worse than if it was put in in room 2. In Between the router and device.Hopefully this information is helpful to you, thanks for reading and good luck!

Works on main floor and camera doorbell
I needed to extend my WiFi signal throughout the middle floor to reach the camera doorbell, and this product works well for that purpose. While it's not as strong for the upstairs rooms, I'll probably need to get another one for that floor. Nevertheless, I still recommend it.

Cudy RE1800 Wifi 6 Extender
Pros:–Dual band wifi 6 speeds, installation was simpler than it appears on paper–Electronic version of user manual from Cudy website is easier to read than printed version–There is a very recent firmware update on the site but good luck trying to figure out how to install it. Asked vendor, they responded quickly, but sent hardware setup instructions, not the requested firmware update process--If you have other Cudy hardware and want wifi 6 with AX specs and OneMesh, you will like this extender but OneMesh won’t happen connecting third party devices to RE1800Cons:--After pairing the RE1800 with my wifi 6 TP-Link AX55 router, it would connect with most other hardware, connection speeds throttled up/down, but it would not pair with two XTU J6 video door bells.–Even though you download the firmware update file to a local source, Cudy does not offer an app to configure this extender off-line so you have to visit their web link, either FireFox or AVG would not allow a connection so I couldn’t upgrade the latest firmware patch. An alternate method would be for the firmware to include self installation software.–Used the reset button thinking it was a factory reset so I could start fresh with original factory SSID, the TP-Link SSID and password were still in memory, very frustrating. Having to identify and manually delete RE1800 remnants from the Windows registry didn’t help my experience.--Tried my best to like this extender and make it work, but not this time. In the end, decided to return the RE1800 and replace with another matched TP-Link wif 6 OneMesh extender–paid more but it works great. My first was an AC model, wanted wifi 6 with AX specs and OneMesh.

Original comment gone?
Wrote a long ass review and it disappears?...a little fishy lolBought this last minute, just needed something quick for work. I didn't see it said Mesh on it. The reviews can go either way on it. Some say it's range. Anyway, Range is what shows up on the box, so cool. That's what I need. It absolutely does not work. I tried to set it up both ways - phone, compute/router. Didn't connect to my router, for some reason it connected to my laptop (in a different room), I put in the correct wifi password. Nothing. I tried to contact support and haven't received a response even til today, nothing. I think this is mesh, I eventually did get wifi but Cudy wifi. And it had no lock on it, which was unacceptable for work purposes.I ended up going to Target and buying TP-link for 30 bucks (compared to this at 60 bucks) plugged it in, router picked it up quickly, password, linked to wifi. Great!Wifi definitely is better than what it was.GO TO TP-LINK!!!

Great for the money
The product is easy to install as a extender, just plug it in near your router, follow the instructions, and you are done with it, then find a a place where you can maximize your signals. But let’s say you want to connect an Ethernet cable from your router to this device and set it as an access point. First there are no instructions so I had to wing it, the problem I encountered was that every time the instructions instructed me to connect the Ethernet, it would just hang up so what I had to do is to set the device as a wireless extender, setup all my parameters, and then go back to set it up as an access point. I ran speed test and the speed throughout was the same as being close to the router.
