It pains to see such great content dampened by terrible proof mistakes and bad typesetting.I have the first edition of this book and I hate to say this edition is full of glaring typos and consistent proof mistakes. Original version of the book uses old versions of Devanagari letters अ & झ Looks like the typesetter of this edition wasn't sure how to read those fonts. As old अ looks at lot like प्र and झ used to be written in a way that looked like भ with the tail of क, the typesetter just randomly put any letter in the words starting with अ & झ (Example - आने reads पाने or माने or प्राने - just depending on the choice typesetter had in mind.)Not just that, there are several places where matras are wrong at times totally off. Also, a simple word like इर्ष्या isn't typed correctly even once in the book. Though Mr.Sahani uses it several times.

हिंदी सिनेमा के चंद सहज और सरल अभिनेताओं में से एक बलराज साहनी की आत्मकथा है । जो अच्छी है किंतु अनुवाद सही नही होने के कारण एक अलग अनुभव से वंचित करती है।

बलराज साहनी फिल्म इतिहास के सबसे महत्वपूर्ण लोगों में हैं। उनकी आत्मकथा पढ्ना एक बीते हुए युग से जान-पहचान करना है। किताब लिखी अच्छी गई है लेकिन छपाई बहुत ही घटिया है। एक पैराग्राफ में दस गलतियाँ हैं। या तो ऐसा है कि ये किताब नकली है।

बलराज साहनी की यह किताब बड़े चाव से मंगवाई थी। इस किताब के साथ बड़े प्रकाशन का नाम जुड़ा है लेकिन किताब में इतनी गलतियां है कि सारा मजा किरकिरा हो गया। प्रूफ रीडिंग बहुत ही निचले स्तर की है। अपना पैसा बर्बाद न करें।

Too much printing mistakes. How can a reputed publisher like Penguin can do this. They should rectify in next edition.

Paper qwality poor and many Hindi spelling mistakes are available in this book. Like as printing machine has disturbed of that publisher.
