I work at a Gulf Coast seafood shack. We had been receiving some particularly tough-to-open oysters from Texas (very crumbly hinges!) and the Dexter knives we normally use weren't doing the trick and required a lot of puncture force to open. We purchased three knives from three different companies to see which one would work best for us. (Other two: Dalstrong Gladiator series and HiCoup)This one wins! One had a handle too small for torque but ok for vertical leverage opening (HiCoup), the others tip broke off after only two hours of shucking (Dalstrong), but this one is going strong. The tip is plenty sharp enough for puncturing, but if you have nice oysters with a solid foot, you can rotate the knife without much effort for an easy open.Most "how to shuck an oyster" videos show you pretty much anything but Gulf Coast oysters, which can make it difficult to see how a knife will function on our typically thick-shelled Gulf oysters. And when you are working at high-speed and volume, no one uses the "fold it in a towel" technique; we use chain gloves on the oyster gripping hand, and the pace and sheer usage is very unforgiving on our knives.That being said, I just ordered three more of these.Thanks for saving us during Spring Break season!

I love the feel and strength of the knife but shucking oysters today the tip broke. I can't find any information on warranties on these knives. Does anyone know what the warranty is?

Exactly the quality I was looking for. Read nothing but good reviews and I can see why.

Purchased for a wedding present, and have heard they are the best!
