A TEXT NECESSARY FOR FEMALES EVERYWHERE(A KIND OF CHILLING FOR MALES IF IT BECAME "De Rigeur" FOR EVERYDAY LIFE...
DISCLAIMER: """WRITING A REVIEW ON SUCH AN UNDEFINABLE ESOTERIC TOPIC AS THESE TEXTS COVER IS NOT EASY. CONTEXTUAL ASSERTIONS ARE RELEVANT VIA CLOSE EXAMINATION & SCRUTINY OF ANY OF THE OTHER WORKS CITED/REF'd TO. THE READER IS INVITED TO EXAMINE SAID TEXTS FOR THEIR OWN VERIFICATION OF CONCEPTS DISCUSSED HERE/THEREIN""" Anyway this book is A very Powerful companion to the texts/works of Carlos Castaneda.. (The ALMOST AS CHILLING TAG EXTENDS TOWARDS 2nd Ring of Power also...)A VERY IMPORTANT & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED READ FOR ALMOST ANY FEMALE WHO WISHES TO ACHIEVE MORE UNDERSTANDING OF THE FEMALE JOURNEY TOWARDS BEING "A PERSON OF KNOWLEDGE" in the way don JUAN MATUS describes it to Carlos & us throughout these texts. The definitions she comes to understand re:Consensual Reality & it's impact on the Female phys. & energy body are much clearer than what Carlos learned w/ don JUAN alone (Almost as clear as w/ La Gorda(Dreaming , 2nd Ring & Eagle, etc..) during his apprenticeship with don Juan.. There is much more revelation re:A life of a "Sorcerer"(as don Juan labels what that is..) & how it's affects & effects must be continually chosen by the way one CHOOSES to live one's life instead of just being a "BREEDER" or a "WIREHEAD"(a la Pak Protector concepts & others from Nivens' RINGWORLD texts..). IT is very important to any who choose to follow this path towards their own DEFINITIVE JOURNEY to arrive @ their own synthesis from the many SOURCES we ALL have available from the "Other Side" of reality(Bruce Moen, Robert Monroe, Philip Jose Farmer, Richard Bach, Milarepa, Dr. Richard Strassmans' DMT text,Charles Stross' "Atrocity Archives", RM Meluchs' Wind Child & The Windhover Tapes(warren norwood), not too mention the many contemporary sources of actual Medium & Energy/Aura Studies avail. currently..). In this text, the power of CHOICE, that is expanded from other texts. reverberates the POWER of Ultimate Personal Responsibilty that this way of existing requires of any who truly wish to KNOW what the only MAGIC possible to any in this human "House Of Life(Birth=Door in, Death=Door out for non-aware...(Those of us who wish to take the pill & trip just as far down the rabbit hole as we can go.." have a significant amount of work to do, much more so than just learning how "The Construct" functions.. Learning how to create an "Eye"(2nd Ring) or to do the Gateways of Dreaming(Power of Silence, Art of Dreaming) or the myriad ways of opening a window, hole in the roof/wall or going out through the foundation via the cellar of "The House of Life")) is. This text is a very important companion work to the others' mentioned above... A door can only be pointed towards, or the opening of it assisted. "The Traveler" on the journey must go through it, as each of us must make the choice to conserve our energy body's resources for the chosen goal...Not the "desired" ones that are thrown at us Internet second by Life minute, sold by the latest iGadget or Tile Slide Phon-Blet being hawked as so much "M-Band Noise"(Monroe's Ultimate Journey) to get one to take focus off the CHOSEN goal...) Ms. Donner gives an accutately detailed report of her experiences. After perusing the many other recommendations of this text it seems many choose to not build their foundation from many varied sources..sad,& quite revealing of the reviewer, their biases, self-importance factor & slew of other facets..The purpose of making money by writing lies about ones' own experiences?!???!? It's much easier to get a minimum wage job, work, be a good little "University"(READ the book...) student & kowtow to the consensual reality that many of the negative outlook folks HAVE to cling to, to feel important, TRUTH is so much easier to exist with. That being said, this text gets 5 stars because it deserves it.

Believe it or don't. Well written. A great read.
I have read most all the books written by Carlos Castaneda's "women." This is one of the best. I really had a hard time putting it down, and wanted to read it straight through.

Great sponsorship guide for women
The last chapter is excellent for guiding women throughpsychic changes. Overall it's an A1 book for learning about yourself.

Florinda Donner Is a Fraud
Much like myself, this book is a quick and easy read. The author herself will tell you that she is a fraud, but she does so by a strange round about way of taking you along a dubious narrative into a mythological world. There is a great deal of this book that just flat out won't make any sense if you have never read any of Carlos Castaneda's books. Her intended reader is clearly his audience, but in spite of this fact, I found it extremely more readable than anything he wrote, and could easily recommend it to the average reader as an entertaining if sometimes bewildering adventure in altered states of consciousness and awareness. But don't go in thinking there is going to be psychedelic spirit journeys, nor trance drumming, nor flutes and whistles. The sorcerer's world that she describes is the ordinary made incredible. Being in Dreaming is being in a state of awareness that transcends consensus reality, not leaving it behind, but rather, expanding it into something extraordinary. This book is sorcery itself, and like stage magic it distracts you on the one hand while it performs its trick with the other. So even though I said it was a quick and easy read, there are layers of meaning and insight buried under the pretense of shallowness. If nothing else, the book is a delightful insight into the histrionics of the author whose exaggerated character flaws are an entertaining reflection of humanity. The rest of the cast of characters are too outrageous, too ridiculous to be factually existent and yet somehow I finished the book with the feeling that they were as real as anyone I've ever known. The sad truth behind this whole thing is that a few days after Castaneda's death, Florinda, and two other witches went missing, their car discovered in the Mohave desert. It is assumed they perished out there in Death Valley. But I like to think they entered the Sorcerer's Dream and never came back.

Reading that matters
This is a must read for anyone who is interested in finding out what else there is to life besides money, TV and gossip. If you are tired of a superfluous and empty way of living, this is a great place to start finding out what lies beneath the surface.

no real dreams in it, just dreamed reality
Wonderful book full of surprises. Recommended for new age crowd, but also a nice piece of fiction, if you prefer to see it so.

Just about ok...
Her other book, The Witch's Dream was excellent. This book however, is just forcibly lengthy. She heavily borrows Carlos Castaneda's writing style but cannot really sustain it. Her overly long explanations just add pages to the book, nothing more; her point though could have been conveyed in a more concise and crisp manner.

There is some debate about whether this is a work fact or fiction. I am writing this review as a physicist who spent many years working in research. I think that this book is an excellent introduction to many of the philosophical aspects in modern science. I realise that the author did not intend this. However reading this book will help people unfamiliar with physics to understand some of the difficulties and challenges that physics experiences. Of course the language is completely different to the language used in science. However, this helps in many ways. The reader is not challenged with the concepts of physics, but rather challenged regarding their approach to the everyday world.
