I like the size and quality of this puzzle, but I’m taking off 1 star because it wasn’t as enjoyable as I hoped it would be. Let me explain: I love puzzles and think the ones that are the most fun to do are the ones with lots of detail and different colors because they allow you to group pieces by pattern and create many smaller sections which can then be linked together to complete the puzzle. By working on smaller sections, the puzzle feels very satisfying and non-frustrating. And a puzzle of this size, piece count, and picture composition should be exactly those things. But sadly it is not. Instead, the marble theme makes it nearly impossible to work on independent sections because there is essentially no continuity between pieces aside from color...which means that you cannot tell which pieces connect together within the same color grouping unless you solve the puzzle by piece shape alone. Furthermore, the color of the red & orange marbles is difficult to differentiate from one another, leading to even more frustration in a puzzle that should be fun and relaxing. I ended up putting the border together first (which is very quick and easy to do), then working my way inward from the edges. Overall, I would say that if you’re looking for a challenging 500 piece puzzle, this is a good pick. But, if you’re like me and you saw the vibrant colors and detailed picture and inferred that this would be a fun and relaxing puzzle, I would recommend that you look elsewhere.

I really like the Galison brand of puzzles and find myself gravitating to them again and again due to their quality. The Marbles puzzle does not disappoint. It is challenging without being too hard to complete. The challenge comes from so many marbles that look almost the same in the picture but the different colors help you to sort out the colors.The best parts about a Galison puzzle are the thick, sturdy puzzle pieces, the quality picture and the fact that I have never had a piece missing. Rounding out the great quality is the thick, great quality box that the puzzle comes in. I highly recommend the Marbles puzzle - it is another great Galison offering. I would say that ages 8 and above would be an appropriate age for this particular puzzle.

I liked the puzzle but there were many many pieces that had to be taken apart before assembling the puzzle. The pieces are thick and fit well.

This was a gift for my mom. She enjoyed putting it together (she loves marbles). The pieces were good quality and sturdy.

Loved the puzzle until the last 8 pieces which did not fit, not even close. It was like having 2 layers but either one wasn’t complete. Two pieces fit together but didn’t fit into the puzzle. Two other pieces didn’t fit anywhere. Ack! Made me nuts. Anyone else have this happen? This is my second Galison puzzle. Both have been beautiful and classy, pieces gorgeous and smooth with good weight. Bummed this problem ruined the joy of completion.

This was our first quarantine puzzle! My 8 yr old, my husband and I worked together to form it. It was challenging but doable - final piece looks great!

Fun puzzle! I put this together while watching the latest season of House of Cards. It only took a few nights (maybe 4-5 hours total), so not too difficult. Colors are vivid. Pieces were unique enough that I never wondered if I had the wrong piece in a spot. This was the perfect puzzle to get back into it.

I find this often with Galison puzzles, they come with many pieces assembled and then you have to break apart which rips the cardboard. Many come bent and torn like in the photo, impacting their fit/the puzzle sitting flat.

The pieces are great galison quality, although a bit shiny. Puzzle was harder than I anticipated but still finished it in 2 hours. Picture was fun, gradients are always fun to do!
