Of the jacks I've bought so far, this is my favorite. That may change as the last one arrives in April (2017). But for now this is my favorite. It has no padding, yet the wood is smooth and does not scratch my boots. If your boots are ultra fragile, you may want to look for a padded jack, but this one may be fine. Of course, you can always toss a washrag or chamois in it and protect patent leather, etc.This jack is small enough to stay out of the way, and its design is a no-nonsense look that says "bootjack here. Nothing else to see; move on." It easily grips my size 13.5 boot, while still seizing my wife's 6.5 or 7 (US women's) and pulling them off with ease. It lives under a stool we use for things like putting on or taking off our boots.The wood is solid; it will not split. The rubberized step helps prevent it from sliding out from under your foot. This is an excellent jack, will not fall apart or damage your leather in normal use, probably ever.The reviews for all bootjacks always include some horrifying tales, especially that they are too large or too small for normal boots. That has not been my experience. This, as do most bootjacks, works for all boots and shoes that we have tried it on. The "horns" are about 3 ½" from functional tip to tip.Buy with confidence. It does its job for probably 99% of all boots, is well made, and does not appear to fall apart under stress.

As an owner of 6 pair of western dress boots (in addition to other shoes) this is indispensable in my opinion.For those who may be new to a boot jack: to take off the boot without bending over, you place the heel of your boot in the opening - make sure the top of the heel (there is a ridge for the heel on most of my boots) is below the U shaped opening. Place your other foot on the rubber grip, place your weight on that foot and pull your other foot out of the boot. Done!This boot jack is made of solid wood and the U shape accommodates several different sizes. I have a large foot myself and this works wonderfully for my size 15 boots. I also find this a lifesaver for a pair of boots I have from Son of Sandlar - they are buckle boots that can be very difficult to remove without this.A slight word of caution if you have boots with exotic/delicate skins. While the inside of the U opening is smooth, it can scuff a touch if you're rough with your boots. Additionally if you use boots that are of an unfinished leather or have too much polish on them, residue can be left behind. Just keep an eye on it.I'd buy this again in a heartbeat.

Much needed items if you own cowboy boots! Sturdy, easy to use, I keep it with my boots, and it's a lifesaver at the end of the day when the feet are tired and getting the boots off requires some extra effort.

Quality was nicer than I expected. I purchased this item for myself and for gifts. I was extremely happy that they arrived sooner than projected and in time for Christmas. "The gifts were a hit." This tool works great and makes taking off your boots a whole lot easier. Decent quality and a good price. Could not live without out this now.

Well made but the yoke should be wider to accommodate large work boots. I wear a size 13 boot.

good product, very helpful to get boots off. I bought 2 as we are a crowd in the mudroom, and hope this will speed us all up. Wood is unfinished, would look better finished but suppose this is up to me to stain or paint etc...
