Short legs assist steadiness surveyor pole.
Intended to assist pole steadiness they work as described. Well made they should last many years.

Not Made For Everyday Use
At first this bi-pod seems like a good one but after 3 months of use one leg has quit working and slides freely. I attempted to fix it but I was not able too and now it is useless.
