Good product!
I used these grow bags to grow new potatoes. I appreciated the different colors which helped me "remember" which potatoes were planted in which bags (yes, I could label them, but where's the fun in that... lol). Tan for golden potatoes, rust for the red potatoes. The 7-gallon bags were sturdy and held 3 seed potatoes (plants) each. If I had large potatoes like russets, I probably would have only planted 1 or 2 seed potatoes as they would have needed more room than the small potatoes. There is room to "earth up" two times, at least. The flap was really useful. Being able to see how far along some of the potatoes were was great, but you can't see the potatoes on the opposite side. Digging would disturb the development of the potatoes, so you just hope that none are ready to harvest on the other side. Design-wise, it might be helpful to have a flap on the opposite side too. That said, the flap stayed closed with the weight of all of the soil and after opening to check on growth. The velcro did get some soil in it after the first check but I was still able to close it again. There was no soil leakage.I want both a larger harvest and to grow larger potatoes next time, so I'll be buying the 10-gallon grow bags for my garlic, potatoes and carrots, but I'd certainly buy these again for smaller crops or spaces (like a balcony or deck).

Working great for potatoes but you have to water them if it get dry.
I tried these this year. They are working great & I love the colors of the bags and that I can move them if needed. The only drawback so far is they dry out quickly and a regular light rain that would work on a ground garden does not get these wet enough. Keep a hose handy.

So far, so good!
I bought the 4 pack of multicolored potato bags for my garden this year. I didn't really consider that these colors may attract and hold heat at uneven rates but the growth difference among the bags is pretty obvious. The black bag has the tallest, fullest and bushiest potato leaves so far. The other 3 bags are growing slightly behind the black bag but at a similar rate among themselves.Overall, I would highly recommend them. For even growing I'd say choose all black. If you're wanting to plant at once but harvest at different intervals then the multicolored appears to be able to do that based on the rate of growth that I'm seeing between the colors. Otherwise, these bags are stable, handles are holding up when I moved them locations and they are easy to fill as my potatoes grow. I'll come back and update after I harvest.

Good idea bad execution
The handles broke while moving them. The wind drys the soil out quickly and when you water the water comes out the sides and never gets the soil moist all the way down. I moved them in a large mixing tub that I would keep about 2" of water in the bottom and created a wind block which all helped.

View window not really
Everything is great except the view window not really if you open it the dirt will fall out if there was something that could be use so you can look at what is happening in the soil and the root vegetables would be wonderful

Very happy potato plants
The media could not be loaded. I have several potato plants THRIVING in these planters with almost no attention from me at all!I should say up front that this is my first year attempting to grow potato plants, so I can't say for sure how much is just good seeds and how much can be credited to these planters, but the planters definitely made the process easy. The size and depth made the planting simple and it meant that I didn't have to waste extra soil on a wide area, I was able to focus everything on building it up. The planter material is very thick and sturdy (it feels like a thick felt, almost) and the handles are strong enough that I have no problem moving these around the yard to follow the sun as the season goes on. I'm really happy with these, looking to add more next year for carrots, and onions.

I love these bags
These bags are great! They are very sturdy and easy to move around. I like how the handles are very strong and can handle the weight of my potatoes and dirt when moved. I will definitely be buying more of these to add to my container garden.
