The Art of the Doodle: Discover Your Inner Artist - Includes Instructional Book and Guided Journal

This book was a Christmas present from my husband this past year (2013), and is what I wanted it to be. We took a workshop in Zentangle artwork in November, and had great fun learning the creative methods of the art form. It can go from very simple doodles to amazingly intense and deeply intricate pieces. This book has the rudamentary elements as well as the more elaborate types of doodles that can get you going and see you through to the more stylistic and colorful types of Doodles/Zentangle artwork. I am thoroughly enjoying using the book and the notebook to expand the designs shown and taught throughout the dual books. My advice? Buy this book and allow yourself the time you'll need working with it, and you will find you'll master more and more techniques, plus explore and expand your own. I'm very happy to have it! I believe you will be too!

The Art of the Doodle by Eleanor Kwei, is a great working guide to start off anyone to create an original impression. I find it would be great for the elementary set more than for an artist in full swing. But there's always something one can learn.

The contents of both the book and the journal were as presented, but should have had spiral binding (which I had done for an extra $10). The cost was reasonable, and the contents quality ~ impressive! I especially enjoy the quotes throughout the book! I am considering purchasing another one as a gift.

Cute book for doodle ideas. The little book pulls out and in the back it includes paper to practice on. I haven't done the examples yet but I'm looking forward to trying them out.

I love the way this book and journal is presented. Very clever how the instruction book tucks inside the leaf of the journal. It was an absolute joy to see that the book includes a journal with shaded samples to follow with your pen for practice. This is my favorite doodle book and I can't wait to play.this book is an absolute delight!!!

I bought this as a Christmas present for my daughter and can not wait to give it to her! It has the journal and the instruction booklet with areas to try your doodles before starting the journal. The doodle's look like...well, doodles, anyone can do them which is great-you do not have to be artistic to be able to do these.

This was a bit too kiddish for the impression I was under when I bought it. I thought it would have been a bit more, I guess, intricate and mature (evening though it DOES have the word DOODLE in it)! My bad, maybe I should have read the description better, but it would make a nice gift for a tween.

I received product in a timely fashion and was excited to receive it!The only issue was the binder of the journal and doodle book was slighty damaged, ALTHOUGH THAT ISN'T THAT BIG OF A DEAL, because the books are meant to be used, and I'm sure with time it will be worn out more! THANK YOU!

I haven't started doodling yet, but this looks promising. This set comes with an instruction book, and a book you can start doodling in for yourself.I kinda like that the pages in the art journal isn't just blank paper, but that there are some shapes along the pages, that can start of a creativity wave. Please note that this isn't a coloring book, but more a book to help you make your own coloring book. :DAlso, the binding is pretty. Looks neat on the shelf too.

This is a great introduction to doodling. It covers everything from lines, curves, patterns, shapes in nature, people and colour, as well as different mediums.There's also a doodling journal which has lots of pages of prompts for you to continue and fill in the page.As this is a nicely presented pair of books, I think it would make a lovely gift for someone interested in doodling.

Bought for grandaughter, but too hard for her.
