Best media player for the price
I have about 4TB's across 3 different external drives. Although this media player only have 1 USB port it works great. I have had no problems with it. Super small so it makes it great for traveling. The only downside is th power adapter. The power adapter is a European 220 plug; it does come with the 110 adapter so using it is not an issue but the size of the power adapter is actually bigger than the media player itself. For the money and the functionality you really cannot beat it. I highly recommend it!World traveler and movie freak.

Great player, huge power supply and adapter. Summarizing others, adding adapter info!
To summarize? 1. this little player plays pretty much everything you throw at it. 2. It plays back great- excellent video and audio, no hangups or distortion. 3. I've tried a 32g Sandisk SD card, and a 64g Kingston Data Traveler on it, and both work just fine. 4. The SD card will stick out a ways, maybe 3/8 to 1/2", so i think I'd prefer to load movies onto the really stubby little Kingston USB drive. 5.the power adapter is a generic, cheap, European one. They toss in a "hotel style" white Euro (round 2-pole) to USA style adapter, but I worry about the thing falling out of the socket with the weight hanging way out there so far away from the wall! With it being so small, I ASSUME that the only reason you need a 2000ma power supply is if you plug a portable USB HD into it, and I've not tried that yet. 6. Did I mention, this player is REALLY small? 7. Here's the best reason to read my review. I looked through Amazon for a better, US spec power supply. It plugs in just fine(right diameter plug), and is the correct voltage and amperage (2000 ma, 5v).. And, I like this player enough to buy the adapter and use them for travel. The one I found on Amazon is--- http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B005CVNH1Q/ref=oh_details_o07_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The one downside of this adapter is that when you plug it in, the plug's chrome shaft still sticks out an extra 3/16" or so- not at all dangerous, but more than the original power supply's plug. 8. yes, the remote is slightly clunky, in that all the keys are the same, but it worked fine for me, and is SMALL. Great to carry on trips. . 9. As others say, think about putting all your movies, or all your music, on the SD card or or USB drive without putting in a folder. It's just easier, trust me. . Overall? Definitely recommend.

Please let me explain.
In order to properly review this one i would have to give it two ratings. One for the device and one for the remote control.THE DEVICE: 5 stars.the device itself is excellent. it plays all by itself. does everything i wanted it to.THE REMOVE: -10 stars.Well it worked the first time i plugged it in. you have to hit any button 20-30 times before it will reconize the signal. On topof that i have to be inches from the device. replacing the batteries dont help either.PRO:1: small footprint2: plays vob, mpg and many others.3: powers off and on.4: navigation is simple and quick.5: Cost.CONS:1: the remote takes me 10 minutes to play a movie.2: the remote3: the remoteCONCLUSION:until the fix the remote dont buy it. If it was just me i would assume that i got a bad remote. but read other reviews thati ignored.

Crappy remote, no resume function
I purchased the Moboplay as an alternative to the $80 WD Media Play. I have two of the latter, and have been happy with them, but I really don't need the wifi function, since my smart tv's and blue ray players already allow me to access streaming content. I primarily watch movies stored on thumb or external drives ripped from my own DVD collection, and waiting for the WD Media Play to make the internet connection off my slug-slow DSL satellite connection before I get to the menu screen is torture. I had purchased 2 Incredisonic Ultra Plays a couple of years ago. One quit working almost immediately and I was never happy with the file interface. The file menu was really rudimentary, and the I always seemed to be hitting buttons on the remote that kicked me out of my movie. The Incredisonic didn't remember where I was in the movie, and it was a pain to get back to the scene I left. The Moboplay has the same issue, and it has the crappiest remote control range I've experienced since the 1980's. Even 10 feet from the device I had to hit any button multiple times to get it to respond. May not sound like much, but it is really irritating when you are trying to pause at a particular spot. The WD player has a better, though not perfect, menu screen and that important "resume" playback option. I guess I'll be paying the extra $25 premium for the wifi function I don't need, but I've learned my lesson.

Works exactly as it should.
A low cost way to play movies that I have archived to hard drive. Really versatile. Plays many formats and does it without much effort. Remote is very easy to learn.
