Love LEIGE WAFFLES? Buy this!!!
If you love leige waffles, you can’t go wrong with this! It is such an amazing product! The Belgian Pearl sugar caramelizes in the waffle to give you such a tasty, golden treat.I would suggest you to let the leige waffle dough rise first and then add the sugar pearls so the pearls keep their shape long term.I have frozen the portioned out leige waffle dough for a month and the waffles still comes out great! What a deal on the price too! Buy this. You will thank me later!!!! Happy leige waffle eating!

Proper Belgian Peral Sugar
Makes great Belgian waffles and much cheaper than buying it in the small packages at the grocery store. Note that this Belgian pearl sugar and is thus larger than Swedish pearl sugar.

They deserve your attention!!!
I haven't been able to use this product fully yet but I have in the past (different company).on the inspection of the granules enclosed in the package we have noticed they are smaller then what we have purchased previously. This may be an excellent complement though. My family uses this sugar for true Belgian waffle making. the butter is more dense and I believe smaller sugar pearls will be easier to mix in and distribute more evenly. I commend the company on that idea. Also, the kids have been eager to test the product. And it looks, the stuff is sweet and dissolves quickly in their mouths :)But I'm most proud of this company for cleaver packaging. My previous purchase from a different company came in a plastic bag - literally. I had to find a container to hold all of the pearls in. No biggie. yet, I wish they worked more on details. Being a business owner myself, I understand how difficult it may be to encase your product estethically in a way that will be catching to the masses. GREAT JOB GUYS!!! My 13 year old adorned the "formal" black-white packedging (bow tie style) with a reference (I'm sure) to buttler's services and high class of your product. And there is the name of the company...! FENOMENAL! CATCHY! CLEVER!Can I propose a raise to the business developer and product manager :)Thank you! And I will be purchasing from you again.

Crunchy Nuggets of Sweetness
I also purchased Belgian Pearl Sugar to make Belgian waffles. My goal was to imitate the Belgian waffles by Julian's Recipe. I experimented with different recipes and ingredients but nothing was quite right until I tried this pearl sugar. It's the key ingredient not just for taste but for texture. It caramelizes during the cooking process, resulting in crunchy nuggets of sweetness in my waffles. Five pounds sounds like a lot of sugar, but if you calculate the price per pound, it's a more economical option compared to products with smaller amounts. At this price, it's best reserved for special recipes. I'm sure I'll use it up making waffles or other baked treats, however I wouldn't use it for basic purposes, such was sweetening coffee. I could not find pearl sugar in any store, no matter how specialized it was so I decided to purchase here on Amazon. The sugar came double bagged in plastic. Also included was a tin of Penguin Mints. Nice surprise! Overall, I very happy with my purchase.

Doh! Belgium and Sweden are different countries.
I bought this sugar because I looking for Swedish pearl sugar, which is used in the baking of fine Swedish cookies. I thought this looked similar, but since there wasn't a reference to determine the scale or size of the sugar pearls, I didn't realize that Belgian pearl sugar is much larger than Swedish pearl sugar. That said, this product was great. I made some Belgian waffles for the kids using this and we all ate and smacked our lips. We'll be having them again soon since I bought a 5lb bag!If you're looking for Belgian pearl sugar, look no further. If you're looking for Swedish pearl sugar, look for the Lars brand (which I bought later).

Fairly chunky
Did not melt as expected in my waffle. Left a lot of big chunks of sugar. Not as fine as the recipes sugar

Good Stuff! Poor Packaging
I just finished making a batch of Liege Waffles. Everything turned out great! The sugar caramelized on the outside and remained crunchy, but not too crunchy, on the inside. My only complaint is that it came in two extremely thin plastic bags, placed in a cardboard box. I guess it serves it's purpose, but you'll need to put it in a freezer bag to prevent punctures of the plastic bags.

Larger than expected
I'd really not call these pearl sugar, perhaps rock sugar would be more accurate. Some are a very large size. If you are buying these to decorate I'd buy something else.
