Awesome Road Trip Activities for Kids: 75 Games and Puzzles for Hours of Fun!

Bought two of these, one for my 10 year old daughter and other for 8 year old son. They both love it! Activities are varied and fun, and it keeps both kids entertained. Easy enough for my younger to do alone yet challenging enough to keep my older busy. We do not allow electronics in the car so this has been great to keep the backseat quiet.

This kept my daughter occupied for hours on our recent trip. Lots of activities and fun for everyone in the car.

The idea of the books is there but works better if you can have a kid that can read

Too much geared to town or country driving, not highway.

In a nutshell, I love this book! My kids enjoy it, and I love that it’s fun, entertaining, and (secretly) educational with just the right amount of silly (if you can find words like “belchertown” or choccolocco” in a book, you know your kids will approve).My expanded thoughts on the book…I am a teacher and a mom of three, and this book was perfect for us. We allow no technology in the car (gasp…no ipad, phones, or movies…just lots of books and games and conversations). This book was creative, fun, and educational, and it saved me from having to create my own activities!What I love…there is a map right in the front so children can see where we’re going or practice their states and geography. There is a list of state license plates too! The conversation starters from the “Would You Rather” section lead to wonderful and humorous family discussions, and the riddles make us all think!What my children love…the bingo pages, madlibs, and mazes are their favorites! This book has been perfect for my 9 year old who can complete it all independently. I am here to order another copy so my 4 year old can have his own book too; he needs help with pages that require reading skills, but even the 4 year old can enjoy much of this independently. On car rides, we find that happy kids make happy parents, so this is well worth it!

This AWESOME book has a great range of activities including things that can be done individually or with multiple family members. The mazes and word searches are things my young emerging reader can enjoy independently, and the silly stories and scavenger hunts are fun for us to do together. Other activities like decoding look fun for older kids (or me!) – in general I think the age recommendation is just right. This is not a little book a kid can just run through quickly, it is a substantial resource that’s a valuable investment for many hours of road-tripping fun!I was provided with an advance review copy of this book.

What a great resource! I wish I had this when my children were young, but will definitely use with my grandchildren! My sister and I loved to sit on opposite sides of the car and count Christmas trees during trips across town and this easily portable book has an incredible number of similar ideas to make short or long trips not just tolerable, but also a lot of fun! After all, it's about the journey, not the destination, right?!

This book is filled with engaging activities to keep the kiddos in the car from asking, “are we there yet?” What parent wouldn’t love that? It is a must have for your next road trip!
