I remember watching this as a kid and I've always loved it. I had to get it!

Great 80s movie. It's cathartic watching these old movies. No cell phones, social media etc. This movie is very touching. You see the way a teen pregnancy impacts all the lives involved. My heart broke for her as she went through criticism, gossip and awful comments from classmates. Her guidance counselor forcing her to quit school. That's how things were. Keeping up appearances. I definitely cried watching this. As usual, Molly Ringworld was amazing. Role well played.

Good movie!

This is such a good movie. I remember watching it when it came out on VHS, I was 8. Maybe not the best movie for an 8 year old but it was the 80's. The story is great and Molly Ringwold was excellent! My favorite is Stan, I had such a crush on him..lol. Overall, a good movie that you should watch!

Don't know how I missed this back in the 80s... I enjoyed it!

When this movie came out in 1988 it was an instant favorite of mine. I suppose I loved it for personal reasons. I could relate well to the characters as I was a pregnant high school senior who was also married at the time. I remember being seven months pregnant as a walked across the stage to get my diploma.I respected that this movie did not glamorize teenage pregnancy. Everything wasn't perfect and rosey between the two main characters Darcy and Stan. Darcy and Stan are high school sweethearts who find themselves pregnant. After some debate over termination or adoption they decide to marry and keep the baby. They suffer some financial difficulties and make compromises on their dreams. At one point Darcy commits a most unselfish act and breaks up with Stan so that he may pursue his life long dream. But love prevails in the end.My husband and I know first hand how difficult it was to be young parents. We also know that there isn't much to glamorize about teenage pregnancy or marrying young. But like the characters of Darcy and Stan we also know that love can prevail.This movie reminds me of that time. I'm Darcy and my husband is Stan. It's been 25 + years and we are still married and still in love.

I’ve been searching for a good price on this for a few years. I was young when it was at the theater. Every girl loved this movie. It showed it was ok for the guy to step up A family is a family no matter how it begins

“For Keeps” is one of my favorite movies and Molly Ringwald plays her role convincingly and brilliantly as a college bound senior who gets a bit of surprise in the summer before she goes to college. In a teen drama, an unexpected pregnancy throws her plans off course and the dynamics of her relationship with her boyfriend off balance until she begins to discover what is really important.
