Exactly what I wanted
I purchased the Cauldryn Coffee Pro for a long (30 hour) train ride. I was hoping it would allow me to do three things:1) Function as a basic travel mug. It does this quite well. I found the lid to be spill-proof. I like the 17 oz capacity. The mug is ergonomic and fits nicely in my hand. With the battery pack it is obviously heavy. It does a good job of holding the coffee at the temp and seems to have good battery life using it for that purpose.2) Reheating thermosed coffee. I brought along a thermos of coffee made before leaving home. I have my trusty standard Thermos, but know it will not hold the coffee at my preferred temp for over 24 hours. I filled my Cauldryn Coffee Pro, set the temp to my desired temp and it brought it to temp in just a few minutes. Again, battery capacity seemed adequate for the task.3) Boil water for fresh coffee or oatmeal. One of the reasons I chose the Cauldryn Coffee Pro was the advertised ability to bring water to a boil so that I could make coffee or oatmeal. Once again, the Cauldryn Coffee Pro performed as hoped. I poured water from my water bottle in and set the temp to 212. It took about 15 minutes, which I did not think was unreasonable considering the tiny heating element. I did this using the battery pack and it did use up the whole charge. It seems the tradeoff would be a larger battery pack which would then be much bulkier for the other purposes. I have access to electricity, but wanted to see how it would do on battery. My critiques:1) Lack of a functional app. There is not an app available for Android. I did find an old app, but it is not for the Coffee Pro and I have found it very glitchy .2) Lack of customer support. I reached out to Cauldryn by email and Facebook messenger, using their suggested methods. This was done on January 11 and I have had only the automatic reply from the Facebook page thanking me for reaching out. Today is the 17th. It is a pet peeve of mine when companies do not check and respond to messages. Fortunately, I was only asking about the app. But if I really needed something from the company it would be a real problem.3) I wish the battery pack was rechargeable with a standard USB cable. USB-C would be my preference. I could then use car charger/home charger/battery pack to charge it.Overall, I really like this product and would recommend it.

It has issues
I really wanted to love this, butFirst off, it says it is a 16 oz, it is if you fill it up to the very top till it starts to spill. I talked their customer service about this, and they said it is a perfect product. Well if it is perfect, why is the opening for the hole you drink out of, so small it comes out as a trickle, so if you want to take a swig, you have to hold the cup up and let it slowly fill your mouth. And every now and then I find the temp I had set would be different. Today I had it set at 120 f and when I went to take a drink, it burned my mouth. It change its self to 208f. When the battery is not use, it only keeps your drink warm for about 2 to 3 hr. The battery is just a little too big for my cup holder, with it is a little bigger than the average cup holder. What I did like about it, is the 12 hr battery time and you can boil liquid if you wanted too.I love the ability to have a travel mug, that not only keeps it warm for hours. But to heat it up if wanted.

best temp control device ever
I absolutely love this product, and of all the smart mugs I have tried in the past few years, this is by far the best because it is the ONLY one that heats and keeps my coffee at the exact perfect temperature for me, 159°. honestly I don't usually use the battery often anymore because I don't travel as much – I just use the base charger and have it plugged in next to where i sit. you can set the temperature of this all the way up to 212 and boil something if you want. i've boiled water in it for soup and oatmeal on vacation. it's amazing. it's good insulation as well. I have the next mug, and this is better because the next mug fits maybe 1 cup of coffee, and this fits at least 2 cups. Also, the nextmug tends to cook your coffee more at the bottom if you leave it on the base charger too long. I had a problem with one of my cauldryns and needed a part and the company sent me a whole new cauldron. yes, I had to hound them for a while, but they were going through some personnel changes and lack of staff, and they finally did respond and came through 100%. this is a small company that has developed an incredible product. if you ever used the ember mug in the past, which I also did, and it did not make or keep your coffee hot enough, then this is what you need.
