An excellent book covering it all...even some of those Entertainment's that became just minor footnotes in the history of the Disney catalogue. The very nice paper stock is smooth yet substantial allowing for an error-free printing, demonstrating an excellent use of space, clarity of images and easy to read text for all members of the family. As always, I deduct one star from my rating as the "registers" or sections are only glued to the cloth ribbon backing and not sewn which would have guaranteed a long life of the book even after repeated readings. As an aside, I will never understand how that decision makes it to the final product, when a $50 book should always be the very best it can be! I assume that until the Public and collectors demand it, editors and publishers will continue to cut corners on a little noticed (but important) feature. The dust over is a nice weight paper and the actual book is bound in the newer, no fingerprint binding should you lose the cover.While most content is tied into the film series, I was pleasantly surprised to find that in every case, the connection and decisions of the Disney Imagineers we're drawn back to their true origins...Walt's original concepts and the attraction that started it all. Since the Disney Parks around the world will likely outlive all the other mediums and forms now existing, it makes for a fine and essential volume for all fanciers of Disney! Buy the first edition now and it will be one to hold it's value over the years.Yo Ho!

This book wasn't quite what I was hoping for: There are no real close looks at costumes, ships or props, and the few attraction maps require a magnifying lens to read properly.Instead, this is essentially a series of rather fawning magazine articles giving an overview of all the Disney pirate projects over the years. For someone with only a casual acquaintance with this history, I learned a fair amount, but I suspect there will be little new for my hardcore Disney fan friends.I'm glad I read this, but I'm hoping that, at some point, there will be a design of Pirates of the Caribbean book as well. ☠️

Really not all that great. More about the films then the rides. Stick to the Disney editions POTC book as that one gives you slot more history if you're into the rides.

Excellent book telling the history of Disney's Pirates and there were many. Well written and full of great pictures. A must have for Pirate lovers

Great price and free shipping for a book that follows all the Pirates, who and why, throughout the Disney films, books, rides, and experiences, up to the very present. Great book for anyone, like me, that likes the Disney quality and experience every time, at all of the Parks! Very well done and illustrated. Thanks!

Great book, well written, fabulous photographs, one to have in one's library. Michael Singer is a very talented writer.

Wow questo libro illustrato ha superato le mie più rosee aspettative...davvero bello come stile (la copertina non corrisponde al vero non preoccupatevi! In realtà é più interessante e disegnato su carta patinata c'é un teschio nero su sfondo bianco con un piccolo Jack stile fumetto e le scritte in rosso, mentre dietro c'é uno scheletro di un pirata con cappello e vestito davanti ad uno scrigno aperto da cui escono monete) ) e ottimo come prezzo, sarebbe perfetto anche come regalo se avete qualche appassionato di pirati in famiglia (anche se non é in italiano però, attenzione, questa é la versione in inglese e per ora esiste solo una traduzione francese).C'é una prefazione di Johnny Depp e tantissime curiosità sulla genesi dei film (non solo sul mitico personaggio di Jack Sparrow), del concetto di storia piratesca, l'ispirazione dietro il tutto ecc.: il perché Disney scelse questa tematica, fino ad arrivare ai moderni parchi di divertimento con l'attrazione piratesca (che diede al produttore della serie de I Pirati dei Caraibi l'idea per farne una serie di successo).Corredato di belle foto e disegni che sono serviti come "concept art" per truccare e vestire gli attori fino alle costruzione delle navi.

Costoso, ma molto bello!Mio nipote, fissato con i pirati e con Johnny Deep ha apprezzato davvero molto! (In realtà sapevo già che lo desiderava).Per lui va bene anche se è in inglese, ma meglio specificarlo: non è in italiano!Comunque veramente bello e ben fatto.
