A Great Non-Slip Tread for Traditional Tubs
I have a traditional 5' cast iron tub/shower that has a smooth enamel finish. At age 64, each time I took a shower, I felt quite nervous about slipping on the tub floor. Besides the soap, which adds to the slickness, I have a water softener which added even more slickness. I researched whether to get a non-slip mat, or these stick-on strips. I purchased two clear packets, since I needed more than 8 strips. I first cleaned the enamalized tub base with denatured alcohol, which gets rid of any residue and dries quickly. I laid out the first strip perpendicular to the tub sides from the front to back. I spaced the rest about 4" apart parallel to the first strip. The entire process was quite easy. Be careful not to get your fingers on the sticky side of the strip. Lay each strip lightly from the furthest point towards you. After you are satisfied with the position of the strip, rub the top of the strip across the entire length firmly. You might need a razor blade to readjust the strips without getting your finger underneath. Do not reuse and reposition the strip if it was firmly pressed into place. Now that I have been taking showers with these strips in place, I am much more relaxed. I highly recommend these strips for their functionality, almost invisible look, and ease of installation.

Keeps me from slipping on my textured shower floor surface
I hate to admit it, but I recently slipped in the shower and definitely bruised my ego! I went on a mission to find something to keep me from a repeat performance, but all of the mats that I tried (several of them) didn't work because they attach by small suction cups that just wouldn't keep a good hold on the textured surface.Based on the other reviews here I decided to give these strips a try. Per the instructions I cleaned the shower, wiped the floor down with rubbing alcohol, allowed it to dry, placed these strips, and allowed 24 hours before using the shower. The strips are very easy to apply and the main thing is THEY WORK. I no longer worry about slipping. So why only 4 out of 5 stars?1. I suppose I'm a bit concerned because even though they seem to be holding securely, the packaging said these are not for use on textured surfaces. (My gut tells me that's just the manufacturer being extra cautious so they can't be sued?)2. A few more strips Would be nice. I spaced them about 5 inches apart and so I only had enough to cover approximately the middle 2/3 of the shower.3. Although I bought the clear, they are quite visible. It isn't a problem for me really (it isn't like I invite people in to look at my shower floor), but I guess I was expecting that they would blend in better.4. Lastly, I wish they would include some sort of template to help with placing them. Mine are a little crooked and not perfectly spaced. Yes, that is totally obsessive of me to worry about that :-), but since they aren't invisible, if I were to apply them over again I'd definitely create my own template.Despite those very small criticisms, this is still the ONLY solution I've found that worked for me!

Work great
Bought these because I was slipping regularly in the tub (I once brought down the entire shower rack and nearly shattered my elbow). At first I was dismayed at how sparsely they covered the tub (only eight per pack) and assumed I'd have to purchase a second pack, but it turns out I didn't need to. Ever since installing them I haven't fallen once. These things are still 100% stuck on with no peeling a year after installation. The only thing I dislike is that a few orange rust-looking stains have developed UNDER the treads which are impossible to get to without uprooting all the treads.

1 bubble bath and they unstuck
My husband put these strips in when I was pregnant and at first we loved them. After about a week, I took a bubble bath and the strips started coming up. It was actually more dangerous because the strips would wiggle. The only ones that stuck for over a year were the 2 that were never stood on. We recently put in the 3M 7645 7-Pack 3/4 x 17-Inch Bathtub Anti-Slip Tread Strips (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BQW4QG/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_3) and a dozen bubble baths (for our daughter) later and they are still holding strong. 3M is a local company for us, so that is an added bonus. Don't waste your money on these strips - go for the 3M brand.

OK. These babys worked very well. I allowed my shower pan (fiberglass) to dry for 48 hrs. Adhered the strips and allowed another 48 hrs to dry. Were staying put and working well. That was late March. Here we are early July and they are starting to DELAMINATE. A bit frustrating. However, of all my Amazon orders, THIS one does not have a "Contact Seller" option. I think THIS pisses me off more so than the delaminating. Oh well. Ya get whatcha pay for!

This works on the "bumpy" fiberglass tubs/showers too!
Thank goodness someone else mentioned in their review that this works on the newer fiberglass tubs/showers that have the little bumps on them. They are supposed to help with slipping, but I found the surface to be just as slick as a regular tub. The shower mats were always smelling no matter how often I cleaned them. Plus, the hair would always wrap around the suction cups…gross! These treads work great! I cleaned the shower with a gritty cleaner, rinsed well, then wiped it down with alcohol. I didn't use the shower for a full day and it's been 2 months and the treads are fine. I was worried that they wouldn't stick because it wasn't "smooth" like the product says it has to be, but they are fine.

Better than a tub mat
The shower treads were very easy to apply and barely noticeable. They do exactly what they need to do, providing sufficient traction in the tub. I probably could have done with 2 more in the set to space them a bit more closely for my son just for extra peace of mind, but even the spacing we have seems to work well. These are MUCH better and preferred to the suction cup mat we had (which had to be dragged out of the tub regularly to clean the tub, and was difficult to wash the underside of due to the suction cups). Definitely a time saver for cleaning!

If installed correctly they work great.
First off ensure you follow the instructions for installation. Installed one without cleaning the shower floor thoroughly and it did not adhere too well. Once I took the time to clean the floor and let it dry, these strips have adhered great. Been on the floor for a month now and no issues with them. Hardly notice they are there when standing on them other than your foot does not slip as easy.

Effective and easy to install
Not the nicest looking treads ever made, but have had them on the tub for several months and they have not lifted one bit. Effective and easy to install. Haven't used any harsh cleaning chemicals on them when cleaning the tub, but have used 'natural' cleaners and they clean up just fine, still nice and white.
