Works on shower drain!
Had used these in past for maintenance or slow drains but had bought this pack for future use as Amazon had a good price. To be clear, I have the packs of dry crystals, not the liquid. My tub/shower drain was getting very slow and prior to opening this box of crystal packs I was using something else, Professor Amos product that has worked for me in past for slow drains, and had used that three times to no avail. Then I broke open the Green Gobbler and used three packs in a two day period all as directed with boiling hot water to get the crystals to dissolve and that did the trick, drain is open and draining well now. I have thick fine naturally curly long hair and use some shampoos and conditions that probably impact the drain so will from now on have Green Gobbler on hand. Saw reviews saying the liquid was better, never tried it but the crystals worked wonders on the tub/shower drain for me.

They work on hair clogs—if you can get the crystals down the drain.
Like many folks, I’m not enthusiastic about using one of those serrated, green, plastic strips to pull things from my bathroom sink drain that look like they came out of the Black Lagoon. But if you shed copious amounts of hair and don’t clean your drain regularly, you gotta suck it up and ream the thing out before using this product. At least if you want to actually get it down the drain without a lot of hassle and have it work.In my experience, it *does* work on bathroom hair clogs. But other reviewers are correct: In addition to wielding the green plastic strip beforehand, you may need to wait an hour after you first pour hot (not boiling, for the love of God) water down the drain, and then pour more hot water a little later. On one particularly horrendous clog, the water I rinsed it with backed up into the sink after the Green Gobbler had sat in the drain all night. I had a gross sink-full of crystals, hair and…gunk. But I had faith, based on prior good experiences with the product, so I gave it an hour and then poured more hot (NOT boiling) water into the sink. The clog dissipated immediately. One minute I had a Sink From H, and the next minute, I had a clean drain and a sink that needed some TLC with a good cleaner. (Which I waited to use until after I streamed water into the sink for four or five minutes to rinse out the Green Gobbler. This stuff is saf*er* than most drain cleaners, but it’s a really bad idea to mix any cleaning/unclogging chemicals unless you have Material Safety Data Sheets that specifically say it’s safe.)Also—do I really need to say it? I didn’t rinse with boiling water. Not only does it release more potentially unfriendly substances into the air, but water at 212 degrees F can wreck your pipes, crack ‘em like an egg in winter, and melt the wax seal on your toilet. All of you who’ve been using boiling water…you’ve been warned.

BEST DRAIN CLEANER EVER!
This drain cleaner/clog remover is like a miracle!!! We live in an older house and that means older pipes and drains that easily get clogged. We've had to call a plumber several times for stubborn clogs and he had told us to never use Draino as the particles build up and contribute to the clogs. So after doing a bit of research and reading reviews I gave this a try....i was speechless! It works like a dream! I haven't had to call a plumber for a clog in the 2 years I've been using this. Finally taking the time to write a long overdue 5 star review! I would give it 10 if possible!

No plumber needed! Complete success!
Who can afford to call a plumber to fix a slow drain in the bathroom sink? After searching on line for drain cleaners, I stumbled upon Green Gobbler and decided to give it a try. Followed the directions and used the snake tool which fished out lots of yucky hair and gunk. Then added the GG powder, and added about a cup of boiling water. Because the drain was really slow, I let it sit overnight. In the morning, added a full pot of boiling water, which cleared the drain completely! It totally did the job. Just delighted with the result, and that there are 8 drain treatments left over!

10 stars just do it
Seriously, do it. I also applied it directly to the pop out drain filter in shower (a think lots of squares where the hair catches) and inside of drain cap in sink. Plan to use on the pop up drain stem when more arrives tomorrow.I didn’t even need to remove the trapped hair in shower drain cap, just flipped it, ran water on it, poured crystals on it, dampened the pile of crystals and let it set for an hour. I then rinsed and the hair/mildew rinsed away. The above isn’t an advertised method, but it worked extremely well.

A must use
Our plumber told us about this. We've been using it for years now and are very happy. I use it every few months to keep all of our drains clear. It's better for metal pipes as the harsh chemical ones can, over time, eat away at your pipes. It is a little smelly at first, but that let's you know it's eating away at all the gunk and the stink doesn't last long. It kind of smells like sulphur.

Not consistent
The first time I used this product I thought it did a good job clearing my drains, but the results are pretty short lived and now that I have used the product for the 3rd time in 3 months water drains very slowly after application. So, I don't really think it is all that great and I will be looking for another way to remedy my slow drain.
