So many warm and fuzzies going on! 4.5 stars
I initially got this book to listen mostly then read occasionally, thinking it wasn’t one of just HAVE to finish, but one I’d be able to enjoy but also set aside…boy was I WRONG! I should know better with Megan Quinn by now but every once in awhile I’ll get a book by her that I just like, not love so was hope my (& so glad I was wrong!!!) this was one of them. That would be a nega-tory statement. I loved it from page one and the momentum kept on growing. These two were a true love story. I liked how warm and super funny it was. I complete ROMCOM, without a doubt. Pacey wasn’t a playboy hockey player, overtly cocky or emotionally stunted, in any way. Nope! He was a well rounded mentally healthy man who was, unknowingly, ready for love. He and his merry band of single hockey playing friends always go to Silas’ “cabin” aka mansion in the mountains once the season is over to recharge since they don’t have wives & girlfriends. They are super close and this works for them. This year, there was a storm and a knock on the door…a beautiful woman appears on the other side, lost and scared with a car stuck in the mud. The storm rages around her gripping and shaking little figure… The woman is Winnie, dealing with loss in multiple different levels and just trying to find herself on a road trip to see estranged family as well as going on an adventure. She stays at the cabin to wait out the storm and sparks fly almost immediately between her and Pacey. The connection was more than physical attraction which I surprisingly loved! No, these two laughed (made ME laugh out loud too), got deep with emotions, played games, went on a heist, dealt with loss and fear of loss, exes, the whole nine yards and I was here for the entire story. The little bit I DID get to listen to narrated by Jason Clarke (frëaking yummy 🤤, I LOVE him always) & Vanessa Edwin, (not the best male voice but enough that we know what is what) rocked. I laughed so much and at inappropriate times in public might I add, that these two could have been comedians instead of narrators! They both did a phenomenal job for sure. All in all, I gobbled this book UP! I mostly read as I couldn’t put it down and now onto the next in series. I already own the physical version of this book I was THAT confident it would rock. Cheers to Eli (I can’t WAIT for his story)!

***5 ‘Jenga’ Stars***
***5 ‘Jenga’ Stars***My book loving heart is all kinds of twitterpated swoony happy over this book!It gave me all the goodness I could ask for and then some.It was a fun, laugh out loud, quick read filled with great characters that I NEED more of and left my cheeks hurting from all the grinning I was doing while reading it.I ADORED Pacey and Winnie. ADORED. Pacey is a sweetheart. The man is observant, charming and just an all around good guy. He does have a few issues that he needs to deal with, but saying he is a good man is an understatement. Winnie is sweet, sassy, sneaky and a little snarky. She’s a little lost in life and definitely gets stuck in her head at times, but she has a golden heart that makes her easy to connect with.Their journey to their HEA was a lot of fun. Things do happen a bit quickly between them, but it worked for me because there was a spark between them that from the moment they collided that was undeniable. That and the fact that Winnie was basically stranded and didn’t have too many options open to her. With the forced proximity in play and the fact that they were just drawn to each other, they got to know each other quite well. Their bantering was a lot of fun and the chemistry between them was hard to deny. Now, the issue of the ex-boyfriend/half brother does come up and it does have an effect on Winnie and Pacey in more ways than one, but I have to say that I’m good with how it all played out. I also loved how the big roadblock that was dropped in front of them was dealt with. It was pretty much perfect and I loved how everything worked out for them in the end.As I said at the start, this was a great read. It’s more on the fun, sweet, sm@x^ side than angsty, though it does have it’s drama and heartbreaking moments, but mostly, fun. The crazy is there, though mostly in the form of the supporting characters. Now, I adored all of the Pacey and Winnie’s friends ~ even if it took me a bit to warm up to one of them ~ and I did have to take notes on Pacey’s crew to keep them straight, but I loved them all and cannot wait to see the future has in store for all of them!~ Copy provided by the author & voluntarily reviewed ~

2.5 ⭐️
This is a fluffy hockey-ish romance. I liked the first third, but the last two thirds were just not it for me.The writing is fine. Meghan Quinn is a good writer. It wasn’t that. There were some times where I felt some things were too descriptive or just unnecessary. Like clarifying that the FMC is allergic to eggs but eats meat? Why?The characters were also great. I especially liked all the hockey guys together. Their banter is hilarious. (I don’t know what it is but writers keep writing hockey players as these goofy guys and I enjoy it). There was some chemistry in the beginning and I guess I liked the buildup. When they got to the shmex part…it started to get cringy for me. The scenes and dialogue read like skinemax. The “drama” of this plot was okay. Enough to keep my interest, but not very exciting. There’s lying and maybe you could call it miscommunication? It’s like a cheesy lifetime movie with shmex scenes. There were some scenes that reminded me of another book, although I can’t figure out which one. And the third act, while realistic, just didn’t do it for me.It’s a light, fluffy, easy to read book, but it’s not life changing. I’m not mad I read it. I just think it could be more polished.

adorable
Love Meghan Quinn. She has a way with making her words pop right off the page. I’m immediately transported into the story and invested in all the characters. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

So good
I tend to dislike Meghan's books since I read Knox and his friend's books, they were so hard for me, their break ups, because of how much time they took to reunite, how they lost years, but this one is not like this if you were afraid of it. They are perfect and the development is too. How he deals with her insecurities was so sweet and incredible. I recommend this book.

For the most part, this book was the perfect mix of sweet and sexy. There was one scene that really bothered my ethics, but I’m going to give it a relative pass because the author did make a point of saying something along the lines of, “I know that this would seem absolutely insane under most circumstances, but…” She then went on to explain. I still found the action wrong, but I can sort of see how she justified it. Almost.Aside from that one scene and reasonably small storyline, I found this book charming. Both Pacey and Winnie were great characters, flawed but endearing and relatable. The supporting characters were also a hoot. I really hope the rest of the agitators get their own stories.

Top notch sports romance
It’s been a while since I’ve read a sports romance and this book only reminds me why I love them!A delicious meet cute situation leads us to our wonderful h Winnie and our delicious hockey player H Pacey.Winnie is on an adventure when her car gets stuck during a horrific storm. She walks and finds a house with its lights on and stumbles across our brood of hunky hockey men who are on their break during the off season. With no where else to go, Winnie has no choice but to accept the hospitality extended to her (reluctantly in one case) and stay at the house. Our H Pacey feels like he knows Winnie but can’t place her. He and Winnie grow close in a short amount of time, they spend a lot of time together while waiting for Winnie’s car to be sorted and the extent of their feelings shock them both. Pacey realises where he knows Winnie from - she is his estranged brothers ex girlfriend - when Winnie begins to speak of her last relationship. Of course it wouldn’t be a romance novel without a stupid H keeping secrets that will certainly blow up in everyone’s faces 🤦🏼♀️ but….because it’s a romance we do get a beautiful, dreamy, satisfying HEA.There is obviously drama, there is definitely angst, banter and chemistry galore, some amazing secondary characters, a beautiful love story, sexy times, and lots of promise for future stories with our band of hockey players at the heart.Beautiful 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 read!
