un-put-downable
this book is fantastic, i haven't finished it yet as i've been busy, but every time i pick it up i get excited to read more. chapters are easy to follow, and the author has included a guide to all the people interviewed in the beginning of the book. i've learned more reading this than i have in the 10+ years i've been obsessed with emo music. it's truly an incredible read

Great for the elder emos
I started listening to emo music around 2001 with bands like Pedro the lion, dashboard confessional, and midtown and grew as the scene did and the amount of bands that I loved that are in this book is insane. I grew up as a scene kid in southwest Missouri and had no idea how many other kids had the exact same experiences I did until I read this. Amazing book and so happy I bought it

emos rejoice
i’m not exaggerating, this may be one of the most important books for this era of music. so many oral retelling books about music history tell you what you want to know. Chris’ book? it conveys so much about the scene that you never knew or didn’t understand the capacity of. growing up on the west coast, you never completely understood what was going on across the states during this time and Where Are Your Boys Tonight? fills in those gaps you didn’t even know where missing. plus! it even has Steven Smith in it, how cool is that.

WHAT A BOOK! THE EMO BIBLE LIVES!
What a damn book! Could not put the thing down once I cracked it. I was 18 in 2003 and 23 in 2008. I lived, breathed, watched, observed and lived through all of this. I love how it starts back at the very beginning (with a LOT of emphasis on NY/NJ which I loved) and brought you all the way through the emo wave--I couldn't put the damn thing down! When is the sequel!?!?!? Take my money! All of it.
