Doctor's Notes Review
Ok now this book is the one that I have been waiting for since I started this series. Gin finally goes after Mab and the fight for her life begins. We start this book out by Gin deciding to take out Mab but of course some events postpone it. Gin soon learns that Mab has bought in tons of bounty hunters and put a bounty and her and Bria's head. This is where things get interesting for Gin and the Spider starts plotting her revenge. I loved Gin even more in this book because she was willing to do anything it took to keep Bria safe and alive. I loved seeing her and Bria learn to deal with their relationship also and head towards building it into something better. This book is even more action packed than the other books in the series and I think this may have been my favorite out of them all. Aside for all the action I loved seeing how everyone was rallying behind Gin for her to pull off taking down Mab. I loved seeing them all function as a family and of course the love between Gin and Owen is continuing to be another reason why I love this series. Owen is such an awesome guy and the confidence boost that he gives Gin is so wonderful. I love that Gin is realizing that she is worthy of being loved and that she also deserves to be loved. The final showdown that takes place between Gin and Mab in one word is spectacular. I loved seeing them spare against each other because they are both so powerful and even though you knew how it was going turn out their was a lot that happened to lead up to it. These ladies were both amazing elementals and they really brought it out in this battle. I loved every minute of it and this is why I continue to dig this series and Gin best of all. I am interested to see the fallout from this book and to see if all of Mab's minions will leave Gin alone. I have a feeling she will have some dark days ahead of her as people try to grab that top spot but of course she will handle it well. Overall this was another great read and one that you definitely need to read

not the best in the series, but still an excellent read
The Elemental Assassins series keeps going strong with Spider's Revenge, book 5 in the series. In this installment, ex-assassin-turned-vigilante Gin Blanco goes after her ultimate enemy, the fire elemental Mab. New enemies and killers are in town, all gunning for Gin and her sister. Working around the paid killers makes taking down the top elemental no easy task and all of Gin's close friends, family, and Owen are part of this ultimate showdown.Spider's Revenge was a much anticipated read for me. All of the previous books have led to this point, explained the back story of why Gin wants to kill Mab, how Gin became a killer, and why Gin is so determined to succeed. I am very pleased with how this book went, the battles were exciting and I never knew what exactly would happen. I am most pleased that future story lines are set up. There is more in store for Gin after this epic battle, and I am even more invested in the series. Also, I am very happy to see that Gin is growing as a character. Her relationships with Owen and her sister are moving forward, and Gin is learning that there really is more to life than killing. I love reading books where the characters learn and grow and the story lines evolve with them.Spider's Revenge is an excellent read overall, the action is top notch, the characters varied and lively, and the world is interesting and well-developed. However, I will admit that there is quite a bit of repetition throughout the book. I felt the beginning was a little slow, the repetition started to get to me, and there was a lot of re-capping from previous books. The pace picked up pretty quick though, and the book held my interest and my attention through the end. Now, I can't wait to read book 6, By A Thread, which just released in February 2012.Armed with her silverstone knives, determination, and a killer attitude, Gin Blanco proves her place as a favorite urban fantasy heroine in Spider's Revenge.Readers who like kick-butt heroines, dark or urban fantasy, or paranormal books will love this series. The entire series is a favorite of mine, I encourage readers to give it a try!

No surprises, decent conclusion
Well, this was a decent enough conclusion to the Mab Monroe story arc of the Elemental Assassin series. Having said that, there are hardly any surprises in the book. Not only does the author repeat known facts over and over again (I have to say that this is getting a bit annoying now) but the basic layout of the book is pretty much the same as the previous couple of books.Mab drags in a new threat to deal with, Gin makes a couple of bungled attempts to kill someone (in this case Mab), she gets beaten up, she gets healed and then it is time for a big show down. As I said, it is getting a bit repetitive and although I gave this book the same rating as the previous ones it is just barely this time.Okay, while the general layout is the same it is not identical of course. There are the female bounty hunter and her young apprentice which puts a nice twist on things for example and the big bad target this time is Mab herself and not one of her minions. We also finally get the story behind the dwarf with the raspy voice. The book was still a pleasant read but I hope the author will try to come up with a bit of a different basic layout in the next book. I will continue to read these books of course (at least the next one) since I do like the bad--s attitude of Gin and her likable friends. I will take a pause after this one though since after five of these books I need a change of scenery before digging into the next one.

More of the same...again
24% in and there has been one new assassin/chase sequence and two new characters, balanced by yet another recap on Gin's background, her elemental powers including her spider rune and new ring, her retirement and ownership of the Pork Pit, Fletcher, Owen, Finn, Bria, Jojo, Sophia, Vinnie and daughter, Roslyn, Mab, and Xavier- I could go on. OK so I was sucked in by the cute cover for this book and the promise of Mab's demise, but frankly I'm fed up of being treated like a goldfish by Ms Estep.Five novels into the series, this just isn't good enough. I'm now pretty confident I could just cut and paste the reunion sex scene with Owen, another dream sequence, a confrontation/near miss with Bria, a sandwich break, a reminder that Gin always checks the stones before she goes home, and just how awful all of Mab's deceased lackies were, leaving Estep to drop in a near death final hit scene focused around Mab's fire element, where Gin, surprisingly, discovers she is stronger than she thought, Gentry & Co swap sides at the last minute and Finn/Owen pick her up and drop her off at JoJo's for some super air healing.I've always found this series to be formulaic-and I don't necessarily have a problem with that. But enough is enough. I have no intention of paying for any more books where the author seems to ignore the fact that some of us have actually paid for and read the preceding novels.Postscript: A shame as the rest of the novel actually had a fair number of action scenes, twists and a stronger pace than books 1-4... But I'm done.

VERY EXCITING!
Fantastic book start to finish! I left a slightly negative review on the last book as I found the beginning quite repetitive but that's because I'm only now reading this series and the books back to back so for me it is repetitive but this book wasn't like that at all! Yes she touched on previous events as any author would do writing a series but then she went straight into the story and it was go go go until the last page! After submitting this review I shall be downloading the next in the series on my Kindle!!! Can't wait to see what happens next!

The best book so far
This book is what we have all been waiting for - the show down between Gin and Mab.The book as more action packed and we do learn some new details about Gin's past and get an idea at how influential Gin's family must have been and potentially wealthy. The author has gone all out in the narrative for the major fight seen and you could really see it in your minds eye.I'm not sure how this book can be topped.

Sider's Revenge by Jennifer Estep
Good story. I could not put the book down. I loved the series and would encourage others to read it, if you like Supernatural and fantasy with a bit of action added in.
