Know what you are getting into. Not shave ready.
This was definitely not anywhere near shave ready. I had to spend a significant amount of time honing it to get it sharp enough to shave with. It was not even sharpened enough to have a consistent bevel all the way across the edge. If you realize this going in, like I did, it will be a fine razor. Don't buy this unless you have the sharpening stones to hone a razor, or are willing to pay someone else to hone it. The description makes it sound like a good gift for a man in your life who wants to try a straight razor.I have shaved a few times with it and it seems okay once sharpened. I wish that the tang had jimping on it for a better grip. I also wish that the wood scales had been better sealed to protect it from water damage. After handling it a few times with wet fingers, I could feel the wood grain starting to raise. I put some polyurethane on it and it is now good to go.

A great razor for the price!
I have two shavette razors I use, but wanted a real straight razor like my father used. I didn't want to spend a lot if money on my first "real" straight razor so decided to try this one after reading a lot of positive reviews. I am not disappointed! This is a great razor. Sharp, good weight and looks great too. I did strope it about 15 or 20 times to smooth the edge up before using, but I expected that anyway. The cardon steel blade holds a very sharp, smooth edge. This is now my go to razor and I'm sure with care, it should last a long time.

Clean Shave!
I've never shaved with a straight razor before. Watching a lot of older movies it's usually done by men that are total badasses. It was a smooth shave at first, but with my inexperience I ended up slicing my throat open and bleeding out all over my bathroom floor. After being rushed to the hospital and finding out my blood type is O-, I looked myself in the mirror and though, "Wow! That's a clean shave!"
