I just started fishing this year and started with a spinning rod. I couldn't help but to want to dry a baitcaster or conventional reel with a clicker on it because I've always loved the movie Jaws and one of my favorite scenes is when Quint hooks the shark and it takes off with the bait. Anyway, I can't speak for the longevity yet because I haven't had this reel long enough but when you get this in your hand, it doesn't feel like some cheap flimsy piece of garbage that will malfunction any time soon. It took me a while to understand how to use it and get decent casts but I have the spool tension on just right, and after having tried and failed with only getting a few yards from shore and suffering through so many bird's nests, it casts very nicely. Maybe not as far as I've seen other anglers with other reels but it launches a 2 or 3 ounce sinker pretty far with an 11 foot King Kat Cabela's rod and 30 pound monofilament line.

The is a great reel for the money. No issues with them. If they do develop a problem, I just buy another reel. It is cheaper than having it serviced.
