this is my favorite written work about catholicism as a young lady I've ever read
This is such a wonderful 4 weeks. I can't recommend enough!!! EVERYONE should read this. This devotional convincted and turned my heart over in so many ways. The way it is written is incredibly humble, informative, and kind in the words. It is so beautiful and I learned so much about saints I already loved so much. As a young lady I will say, MY HEART IS CHANGED FOR THE BETTER because of this book and what God revealed to me through it. Praise Jesus for this!!

An Inner Journey
I had already read much of the writings of these four women Doctors of the Church and love what they have each given us in their varied ways. But Vinita Hampton Wright invites me deeper to take their contributions to heart and ponder and reflect and allow them to have a greater impact on my life. As always, her questions are thought provoking and deserve more time than I have given them upon the first reading. I’d like to read again with my small group. Vinita first touched my soul deeply with ‘Days of Deepening Friendship’, which had a great impact in my spiritual growth. Then I read a couple of her novels. Now this new contribution to my spiritual journey. I’m a fan, Vinita.

A wonderful personal retreat!
Set the World on Fire is a four-week guided retreat that focuses on four women saints: St Therese of Lisieux, St. Teresa of Avila, St. Catherine of Siena, and St. Hildegard of Bingen. These four women's lives span eight centuries, and this book does an excellent job of offering valuable insight into these Doctors of the Catholic Church.I like the format and structure of the book. Four weeks are spent with each Saint. An overview of their lives is given, including additional reading, scripture passages, reflections, and journaling questions. Each day was broken into content for morning and evening prayer, making this a wonderful personal retreat. The author clearly knows these Saints and shared information about their lives that made each of these women feel accessible, making it easier to draw connections and relevance in my own life. Each of these women has played a significant role in the Church. I especially enjoyed the weeks spent on St.Hildegard of Bingen; it seems she is less well known than the others.I highly recommend this book as a personal retreat. I filled an entire journal working through the prompts that were well written and not generic, as is often the case in individual retreat books.

4 great friends
I have used many self guided retreats and been disappointed by either the reading or lack of thoughtful questions. This book however is very well done, I felt like it was written just for me. I have long been friends with Sts Therese of Lisieux and Teresa of Avila but the questions during both these weeks were wonderful to journey with. I am now friends with St Catherine and am deeply intrigued by St Hildegard and the music she wrote. I will continue my new friendship with Hildegard and continue reading more about her.

At odds with the ink
Hello, did anyone else receive a book with light ink? My aging eyes find it quite annoying, and I can barely make out the red words. I've compared the book to many in my book library, and this is by far the lightest. I'm hoping this is a one off in the book I received. The contents look great though.
