The One and Only Ivan

I used to visit Ivan at the B&I in Tacoma when I was a kid the memories of that place.. it was just magical so many animals there and they had the best waffle cone Ice cream’s my fave was strawberry and so many people selling every kind of thing they had clowns giving out balloons. I saw so many things there that I’ve never seen any place else. It was a place to get away from everything by going to a place that had everything I don’t think this book captures all the amazing feelings people had about that place, tho I is a nice way to remember that beautiful gorilla

There are three books in this series. You get to learn about Ivan, Bob and Ruby. They all have a seperate story but are tied together. More for young people but I enjoyed at 77 years old.

My daughter read this book with her class and asked can I buy her the next one so she can read it. The kids really enjoyed this book, according to the responses I heard.

My daughter absolutely loves this story. She didn’t have time to read it during the school year but now just one week into the summer and she’s nearly finished. I love seeing her curled up reading her book instead of on a device.

I read to 2 3rd grade classes in Florida over Zoom. I live in Pittsburgh, PA. THE ONE AND ONLY IVAN was a wonderful read a loud. The children loved it, and I loved reading it. Ivan knew that he and the elephant next to him should be in a zoo with other animals like them, not performing in a mall. He gets his wish.

I recommend it to kids.

I bought this book for my son in the 4th grade in primary school, but I think it's really worthy for adults to read it as well. Very toughing story. Our family discussed together a lot of things after reading this book, and after that my son chose this book to present in his English class as he wanted to introduce this book to his classmates.

Compré este libro para mis hijos (de 10 y 12 años). Yo lo empecé a leer y no lo pude soltar!Es un cuento hermoso de un Gorila (Ivan) que vive en una jaula en un centro comercial.Ivan no recuerda su vida fuera de su jaula y desde ahi acepta su alrededor y trata de entender a los humanos. Pero algo pasa y los cambios llegan.Ivan es el que cuenta el cuento asi que el vocabulario que usa es muy simple pero al mismo tiempo muy profundo. Es un excelente libro para toda la familia.

A very nice and cute book. It was really amazing that Ivan managed to get ruby and bob out of the mall.

Eventhough the ending was predictable halfway through the story, my kids enjoyed the read and got emotional many times along the way!
