but it provides bracing for the end members that it I would not recommend dispensing with
So This is a decent rack, though I don't know If they should be so proud as to charge $40.00 for it. It has some engineering flaws that make it less worth the price. Because the shelf is a grill speed loaders won't rest on it stably. And the shelf really is to close to the pistol rest. There isn't enough room to fit 8 pistols worth of stuff in between them. I did some work on mine to address the flaws. I mounted the pistol rest upside down. Because it normally mounts flush and flipping it makes it mount on its support rails, I had to use 1/4" longer screws than the ones provided. I stand the whole unit upside down, with the gun rest mounted upside down, the gun rest is now right side up. The shelf is on top in this arrangement, You could leave it off completely, but it provides bracing for the end members that it I would not recommend dispensing with. Unfortunately the shelf is too close to the pistol rest and it there isn't enough room to put the pistols in the rest. I removed the three frontmost rails of the shelf. This leaves enough to provide the bracing but the shelf now is recessed enough to allow pistols to be put in the rest. About now you are wondering why I would go to all this trouble. Well now I have a 4 3/4" clearance under the pistol rest and about 41/4" clearence under the pistol butts that hang down. This gives me plenty of room to put a tray underneath that is big enough to hold 2 or 3 loads per pistol for 8 pistols. All the pistol racks I see either don't address the need to store reloads at all or don't give you enough room to store reloads for all the guns in the rack, especially if some of your handguns are revolvers. I ordered this tray: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0058SORE4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. It's just slightly less wide than the rack and 18" deep. Plenty of room for mags and speed loaders galore. So the total cost was $60.00 and an hour of my own labor. But I got what is for me the perfect pistol rack. I have more than 8 pistols and I am seriously considering a second rack of the same configuration.

Decent product, just look it over first.
The product it self is solid. It's the quality control I have a problem with. I bought this product when it arrived the box looked as if it had been opened previously. Then once opened I quickly realized that the coating on the pistol rack was faulty. In certain parts the coating had not taken to the steel and was actually peeling off. There were metal burs on the rack as well that would definitely cut your fingers. Amazon did however take the return no questions asked and replaced it free of charge. It was really simple. The second one I received was in much better condition. With no burs or damage to the finish.

Overall, thumbs up.
Unfortunately mine arrived slightly damaged. There is a black plastic coating that was cracked and separating from the rack.It was a relatively small defect so I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it to get another one.Aside from that it's a nice, sturdy storage rack that allows you to place extra magazines just beneath and all the way on the bottom.

The shelf is nice to help store mags and cans
ProsIt's heavy so it doesn't move around. The shelf is nice to help store mags and cans. It's stackable. It will hold a model 29, dirty harry 44 with a 6" barrel, if you let it extend 4" past and put something small in next to it.It holds; model 686's, glock's, Beretta's and 1911's well.I haven't seen anything I liked better on the market.ConsOne bar behind the logo failed on one of the four I have.An HK P7's isn't heavy enough in the barrel and kick's over back words. This is the only gun I have that wouldn't work in it.It will hold a star megastar(big double stack 45) but I don't see anything bigger going in it if you have something HUGE.

I love these. Very compact and you can stack them ...
I love these. Very compact and you can stack them and line them one next to the other. you can literally fit 20 guns in 2sq foot space. Spacing between the slots is only problematic for revolvers. Some care should be taken when taking and replacing guns from the slots so you don't hit the ones next to you and cause scratches. Only thing to be aware of. If you are clumsy, go for a tick foam holder with like 2" space between each slot.

Be sure you have a big safe to put this in
It was easy to put together and it is stackable. Just make sure you are putting this in a big safe. Because it wouldn't fit in my tactical stack on safe. But i needed to clear up space anyway so i bought a separate pistol safe to put it in and it should fit perfectly.

read the reviews
Went together poorly and the finish is bad but I knew that from the other reviews.

Good product poor quality control
Its sturdy, and well built. But the paint was chipped and it has surface rust ear the welds. The rubber part had a messed up part too. Its a good size, but it wont fit s&w l frame or bigger, nor will it fit a ruger vaquero.
