Hell Baby

I really enjoyed this movie, and laughed out loud more than once. That said, this movie isn’t for everybody.If you’re a fan of shows including Reno 911, Children’s Hospital, NTSF:SD:SUV, Another Period and Key & Peele, you’ll probably laugh a lot. Tom Lennon, Ben Garant, Rob Corddry, Keegan-Michael Key, Riki Lindhome, Rob Huebel, Paul Scheer and Michael Ian Black – who have appeared variously on those shows – are in this movie, and their brand of humor will be familiar to you.If you aren’t fans of any of those shows … or are easily offended when it comes to comedy … then this movie is not for you.This movie is by turns hilarious and grotesque, and I mean that in the best possible way.Quick plot synopsis: Rob Corrdry’s character and his wife (played by the gorgeous Leslie Bibb) move into a “fixer-upper’ in a bad New Orleans neighborhood. Haunted hijinx ensue as soon as Keegan-Michael Key, who is squatting in their crawlspace, tells them that is the famous “house of blood.” Also, Leslie’s character is pregnant with twins, and one of them is a devil child. Lindholm is onhand (and gloriously naked) as a hippie sister-in-law, and Black is a too-briefly seen psychologist.Shortly, two exorcists – played by Lennon and Garant – are dispatched from the Vatican. They strike up an odd friendship with cops played by Huebel and Scheer as they solve a grisly murder and do some satanic sleuthing.It all comes to a head when the babies are born in wild mix of slapstick and horror.There were some good outtakes, but what’s missing is a movie commentary. That’s a shame, but still not enough of a problem for me to detract from my high rating.I hope both my enthusiastic recommendation and warning about this movie has been clear. If you’re part of the target audience, you’ll love it. If you’re not a fan of edgy, gross, and sometimes grotesque comedy, pass this one by.

I found it offensive that they made light of demonic possession; people that have been possessed by a demon are f'd, they are possessed by a servant of hell and their souls damned forever--that is no joke. I pray no one has to endure that trauma, nor deal with the inconvenience of being damned 4ever; now, that being said, this movie was funny, or may I say, it has funny moments followed by the serious nature of demonic possession and the light hearted nature in which they glamorize eternal damnation. eternal damnation is neither fun, nor glamorous.

Possibly the longest fight a baby scene in cinematic history, mixing in some muckbang, tastefully done nudity, pot smoking, a family guy skit, and you have one hilarious movie. 4.5 all day. Very entertaining.

This move is hilarious. I expected it to be a low budget horror film and was shocked to find myself laughing at every turn. And it's not a stupid spoof like other horror comedies. This was one of my first experiences with Keegan Michael Key and I fell in love with him instantaneously. SO funny!! This movie doesn't take itself too seriously. Nor does it attempt to be actually scary. Every bit of the humor is spot on. If you're a artsy film festival snob, you should probably skip this flick. If you're a normal person looking for a chuckle, go for it.

If I were the auteurs who made this flick I would cast myself as the priests, too. I just love their irreverent Italians. A white couple moves into a depressed hood in New Orleans; they move into the Blood House. The place is so haunted that a demon takes over one of their unborn twins.

I love Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon (and I really hope I can age as well as Lennon - he looks so sharp in a priest outfit with sunglasses) and this move doesn't disappoint. These two are masters of their craft and probably don't get as much adulation as they deserve because they work in comedy. But their lives are probably a lot better than mine, so screw them.Lots of laugh-out-loud moments that almost feel better the cheaper they are. Riki Lindhome makes an excellent hippie chick and looks fantastic without clothes on. Keegan-Michael Key is super funny, especially when he does the New Orleans accent. Also see Balls of Fury.

This movie was a waste of time. It had a few funny moments, they were few and far apart. The best part was when they got to the end of the movie because at that point, the movie was finally over and I didn't have to watch any more of it.Don't watch this movie unless you've watched every other movie you don't want to watch, and then when this is the last movie on earth that you haven't watched... Don't watch it.Not better than Cats.

Don't be fooled by the hype in the trailer preview it looked great so I rented it thinking oh boy this is going to be a great film. Couple buys a house in a nice neighborhood, first day there nice but weird neighborhood guy keeps poping up climbing in the window etc, he is funny though, The husband seems oblivious to reality at times. The wife is pregnant, weird creepy things start happening it becomes scary. 2 Priests come to do an exorcism, she goes into labor has the baby but in reality there were 2 fetuses 1 a horrifying devil with horns etc, the other human Why I say moronic is when the baby devil bites the guys neck though having time to he doesn't do anything right away when a normal person given the chance would grab it by the throat trying to hold it away from them plus the priest could get it with the holy water etc I would. People are made to look stupid in parts of this movie which to me detracts from what could have been an awesome movie if the idiotic stuff had been cut out.I must admit some of it was comical from the stupidity. The actors are great liked them

funny movie

If you have seen Reno 911 then you know what humour to expect. I won't give away any of the plot but it does parody several films (just look at the title). I think the mood is better set with the region 1 disk I bought. Several set pieces do repeat themselves but it is forgivable. The extras are the norm. Please don't believe the reviews as this is a marmite film.
