Great addition to non-subbed OEM stereo systems
Very good for what it is. Definitely makes a difference for the better. This bundle came complete with an amp wiring kit. This kid includes some speaker wire, power wire, ground wire, RCA cable, terminating connectors and wire ties. All speaker and power wires were NOT terminated. The power wire did have a molded fuse holder pre-installed with a flat blade style fuse. The wire connectors were extremely cheap, plan on replacing them with better ones. Butt connectors were supposed to come in the kit per the packing list but none were included in my kit. Wires themselves were average quality and had good silicone jacketing which made them flexible and easy to run through the car. This cable is NOT pre-tinned and will NOT take solder, simply won't. The power cable, RCA and speaker wire appear to be copper but the ground cable is silver colored and may be some other material. The amp itself seems well built. The sound is decent for what it is, impressive really, that you can get this bass response from an 8 inch sub that is 2inches thick. No IASCA SPL awards though so don't think it will "hit". It will make your OEM non-subbed system sound much better. It will finally sound full and rich. This is a great option for those who dont have room for a good sub but wish they did.Docking one star for missing connectors, cheap connectors, mediocre wire quality and for being unterminated.

Lightweight but good bass extention
Lighter and smaller than my old Soundstream 8 inch under-seat sub which suddenly stopped working after almost 2 years. Rockville USS8 subwoofer will not give you stellar bass but is a good enhancement. I set the gain 3/4 up instead of maximum. I am trying to avoid similar problems as I had with the Soundstream (overload). So far, the sub is performing well. Only time will tell how long it will last. I replaced my old REMOTE gain knob with the Rockville sub remote. All wiring remained the same with #8 wire feed instead of #10. On summer, I place it under the seat since the heater exhaust is not being used. On winter, I move the sub (due to the heater exhaust) into the left passenger side rear floor but no one can see it because of the backseat pet covering purchased at Bed and Bath. I made the feeder Wiring and the on/off remote wires long enough for movement to the rear floor. The Rockville sub fits and slides better under the seat than the Soundstream, which was wider, heavier and slightly stronger bass. The bass presence is still there using the Rockville sub. Still happy with the purchase and the bass output.

Excellent product
I will try to be as objective in this review as I can be. I bought the USS8 with the amp wiring kit.Pros: Very slim design- fits perfectly under the rear seat of my GMC Sierra 1500. LPF and Subsonic Filter Bass boost control- this has been very handy as not every song will have the same bass levels so having this makes adjusting the level of bass that I want quick and easy without having to scroll through the sound menu on my head unit. Auto on- I don't need to run a remote wire to it for it to turn on. Wiring kit is very high quality - comes with everything you need including an extra set of rca wirres and I actually received an 8 gauge instead of the 10 so that was a great surprise.Cons: - screws that came with it to attach to the car floor are a little too short. Not a big deal since I just found some longer screws that did the job.Overall- This is a great value when you compare it to other powered subs on the market. The bass is plenty good enough for me. If you're looking for a very simple to install powered sub that comes with everything you need and sounds good then this is a sure bet. I have only had it for a week so only time will tell as to it's longevity but so far so good. Will update as needed.

8" USS8 in a 97 4runner
I was way too skeptical, this thing is absolutely Perfect. I'm going into detail, because this is the review i was looking for to calm my nerves. To get a feel for what I'm comparing to when I reference bass, I've worked at night clubs that have hosted big names in the EDM industry. I know what it's supposed to sound like, it shakes the cement floors of an industrial building. The goal for my setup was not to win competitions or be "that guy" at the light you can feel bumping next to you. I'm in my 30's and just want to hear songs like they're supposed to be heard without speakers distorting when the beat goes low.Installed the 8" in a 97 4 runner under the Driver seat. In this vehicle, I can rotate it sideways( face the hook-ups towards the doors) or place it with the hook-ups facing the front or rear and still be in front of my weathertech rear floormat's. I have to slide the seat all the way forward for it to be exposed. No issues on height either, room to spare. As for sound, it has more than enough power to match my kenwood 6.5" and 4.5" door speakers matted to a Kenwood head unit. I use a mini amplifier that provides 45w RMS to each door speaker. Right now, I've got the gain halfway and use the controller at half. In the head unite; no bass boost or loudness used, and bass set to 0. I havent finnished tweaking, but intend to turn down the gain. I don't think I'll need to push it more than half power which means cooler temp and longevity. And I can't emphasis this enough; being able to filter out the low frequencies from the door speakers is life changing, no more distortion. You can turn it up LOUD :) It will produce all of those bass notes you've been missing out on. I was very skeptical it could produce the lowest frequencies of something like Trap/EDM. But it does, way better than I thought something non-ported could do. Now, its not going to make your eyeballs wobble, don't expect that. You either need to grow up or get something ported with a huge amp for that. I could see it being under powered in something larger like a suburban if you placed it in the far back expecting it to shake mirrors. I'd still use this or go to the 10". I can't speak for being in the trunk of a car... would either go 10" version of this or just get a proper ported 10"+. This 8" in a small pickup truck will be overkill if you turn it up.Bottom line, get it. Its very well constructed, provides bass in all the frequencies, hides away nicely, and will have you grinning. And get it with the install kit included, it's worth it. If you get it with the install kit and are just going to the front seat, I recommend buying a 6ft set of RCA cables to avoid a huge bundle hidden somewhere. The 17ft set included is overkill for that situation, but would be what you need to go further back than the front seats. **You only use the RCA's if you have an aftermarket head unit.
