Complicated installation
Came as expected. Didn't get the chance to use it. It was very complicated to put in the controller so I never actually got to use it. Would only recommend this product for a person who knows exactly what they are doing.

everything i would expect
These LEDs work great, I purchased them for my girlfriends controller and they hsve worked flawlessly. the LEDs even came with an internet link to a tutorial. NOTE: do not attempt if you have neever soldered beforeupdate 3-18-14:This update is long overdue, but the LEDS turned purple after about 6 months. I know this because I only have two controllers which means LEDs 1 and 2 are the only two ever on. When the system boots up and the LEDs cycle a pattern of spinning lights, it is abundantly clear that the LEDs are now distinctly purple compaired to their pink counterparts. You get what you pay for... reducing to 4 star review.

Having the necessary knowledge
comes with 5 leds small bright leds but you have to have good soldering skills.Having the necessary knowledge can make this install go much more smoothly without as many mistakes.Microsoft LEDsThe Xbox 360 LEDs are different from the ones that we are using. They are capable of producing two colors - red and green, which are used to display error messages along with player numbers. Each LED shares the same positive located on the counter-clockwise end. This instructable is tasked with soldering to only the positive and green negative terminals.Positive/Negative OrientationIn the picture below, green negatives are more counter-clockwise and red negatives are more clockwise. There have been many different revisions to the wireless board, constantly changing the direction of the red and green negative terminals. Newer Xbox 360s have the layout shown in the picture below, while older 360 may have different orientations for each terminal (such as only player 2 has green and red switched).Body PositioningAs the pieces we are working with are so small, shaky fingers can make this a frustrating task, which by itself makes the job impossible. I suggest laying down on your chest to to handle and solder the pieces. Getting too excited, running around, or becoming angry at the process will increase your heart rate and adrenaline, and make it much harder to complete this project. If you need to, feel free to take a 5 minute break to calm down and do the job correctly.Either way, the SMD LEDs we will install will be facing towards the center on their side (for players 1-4 the LED is sideways, the power LED however points straight up). Installing the 0603 SMD LEDs sideways makes them brighter since the light is being emitted directly into the diffusion clip's (white clip) lenses.

WTF?
The description on this item was lacking. When the item arrived in a plain white envelope, taped to a piece of paper the included instructions were "look it up on youtube to figure out how to use this". Crock of crap. It only cost a buck or two so I didn't send it back. I should have, but didn't. You need a soldering iron, and that was not mentioned. Whatever - buyer beware. If you have the necessary tools its all good, but if you don't you are kind of boned.

Difficult
These L.E.D.'s are SUPER cute, but also EXTREMELY tiny!! I don't have the eyesight or dexterity to have placed them myself, so I got my daughter's BF to place them for me (he accidentally lost 2--one SHOT off the tweezers and disappeared forever!!) They tell you the website to go to for instructions and then you can download them. IF you aren't very good with a small soldering iron, this might not be the mod for you!! Overall, I LOVE my modded controller L.E.D.'s (I have 2 green & 2 pink) =)

Doh!
Wow didn't realize it would be so difficult. Note to self: watch how to video BEFORE purchasing these types of things. LED's could be great but I'll never know cause I'm not gonna risk messing up my controller :/

Great Value!
Great Value! If you are good at soldering then you can change the ring of light on your xbox 360 controller. Unfortunately for me I am a beginner at soldering and ruined 3 of the 5 LED's they gave me so I had to order more. You only need 4 LED's so they may give everyone an extra LED for this reason, but for me it was not enough for my mistakes. I suggest if you are a beginner like me, check out some instructional videos by searching "Xbox 360 controller led mod" which I did after I ruined 3 LED's. I suggest angled anti-static tweezers and a tooth pick method. The LEDs are so small that I had difficulty holding it in place because it wanted to stick to the tweezers. Pros in the video make it look very easy, but I found that I needed 3 hands.

Be CAREFUL!!!!!
I like how they grouped my items together in the same package but I hate how one of the items they sent me was wrong. I wanted to make a pink ring of light controller for my gf but they sent me purple instead... not cool...
