Old Fashioned and class ridden but in the Genre of Agatha Christie etc,entertaining,harking back to a time when "respect" did not mean some muppet bumping fists with an equally idiotic peer.

Good read

These novels are very much a product of their time, with the casual racism and sexism of the era. The stories are OK, but I found some of the writing very heavy going. The two main characters are not very engaging, and after reading a couple of the novels I found them just tedious. But they are an interesting window into the past.

When downloading I expected only short stories. Each one however was a full book and kept me entertained throughout. Particularly liked the period descriptions and the use of appropriate dialogue.

Started it but could not cope with the attempt at "archaic" language. Not for me!
