Great second edition of a very good ruleset
Nic has improved himself with this second edition of the ruleset. Nice images, very good and clear presentation Irregular Wars is a ruleset ideal for play battles in the age of discovery, but useful for earlier and later period, around the black powder wars. The units are represented by one stands, and the armies are not bigger than 15 stands. The event cards give some pepper to the game, and there are no two the armies.

Fun set of rules
Uses “resolve” as a cohesion factor and 52 chance cards to simulate the commander’s abilities, random events, unusual conditions and to give more era flavor. You can still get these cards professionally made through Wargame Vault. The author uses “ordinance” when meaning ordnance and states Tokugawa Ieyasu ordered the 1592 invasion of Korea but it was actually Hideyoshi.

Great little rule set
Great little rule set. Easy to pick up and fun to play. Reasonable outlay in figures or meld 2x dbr bases into one company. A very good mechanism. Recommended.
