A bit misleading in advertisement. States 20 piece cooler. In actuality,there are only SIX pockets for "ice packs",Having said that,I was pleasantly surprised at the workmanship. This vest appears to be solidly constructed. There are 4 "pockets" in the back,2 pockets on front. There is a sturdy appearing zipper in front with velcro tabs at each shoulder and 2 adjustable straps on each side,for best fit.There are extra "ice packs", these come flat and without liquid. You have to add water,shake up until a "gel" appearance is achieved. I filled up 6 of the "packs".3 of the 6 did not appear to have anything in them but the water I added. I am sure I can get gel packs to fit the pockets,so the "faulty" gel packs are not a problem. Only instructions that had English language was a tiny paper telling you to INJECT WATER...Everything else was Chinese script.I have decided not to buy anything else made in China. But I had already ordered this when I made that decision. And I'm glad I bought this.**AMENDMENT** LOVE THE VEST!! Has been in mid to upper 90's and I have animals to feed and watch over. The vest makes a world of difference.Thinking of buying a "spare".

This vest is very well constructed, the fabric is soft on the skin and it has adjustable side straps. I received 20 gel packs that require you to add water to activate the gel and then freeze. The vest holds 6 packs, 4 in the back, and 2 in the front. I read the reviews some ppl had issues with excessive air or with filling. I used a small funnel and it was a breeze! The key is to fill with a slow small stream of water. If you fill it too fast you will get a lot of air which you cannot remove. After adding the water to the 400ml line, shake to activate the gel. Some of the reviews suggested you not fill to the 400ml line I did both. I felt I got better results with filling to approx 300-350ml. I pressed the bags flat so they would freeze evenly. I did mess up a couple of them that were not lying flat, but you can easily fix that by letting them thaw out and then reshape and freeze on a cookie sheet. The vest can be a little heavy depending on how many ice packs you use and the weight of the ice pack. Again, I prefer the ones that were not filled all the way which were lighter in weight. Initially, I used 4 packs to see how it felt, within an hour I added 2 more. I was working in my garden and it kept me cool for 3plus hours. When I removed the vest the packs were still frozen! I decided to fill all the ice packs at one time and store it in my freezer for convenience. I have MS and the heat can be brutal! This is a game-changer!. Now, I feel I can be out and about running errands without any worry of overheating and feeling totally drained and miserable from the sun and the high temperatures!

I live and work in Florida, outside. The heat and humidity in the summer is brutal, I bought this as a cheaper option to those costing a few hundred dollars. I am very happy with this vest, fit is very good. It comes with 20 ice packs, which is a nice bonus. It is highly adjustable for those who are large and small. Once I got the fit the way I liked it I sewed the straps closed and cut off the extra. Makes a cleaner look. I got about 2 to 3 hours of cooling on one set of ice packs in 90 degree weather, which is more than I expected. I would another one in a heart beat. I have never owned an ice vest before because they are very expensive and I was told be people I work with they only last for about an hour. So my expectations were low, but I am very happy with this vest and would recommend it to anyone.

I work in 90 too 115 degrees on a nice day. This is awesome. It keeps me cool all day I throw 12 packs in a cooler in tla refrigerator and on breaks I switch them out. It is the best money I have spent in a long time

The only good thing about this vest is the price. It does work, as I have been able to work or play in hot weather without quickly becoming exhausted as I did in the past. We did have to modify it, as the strap buckles were installed backwards and would not hold tight at all. We also had to move them closer to the edges as I am a 3xxx size and putting this on full of ice packs over clothing didn’t allow much strap feed through. Also the zipper isn’t very strong, so you can’t sinch it down too tightly. Some advice on the ice packs. Don’t fill them to the 400 ml line on the packs, it will make them too bulky. I found 250 ml dies the job. You might want to add some blue food coloring to the water you add. You will need a small funnel and push it into the opening past the one way valve at the top of the packs. Very ingenuous, but you can’t burp out the air pockets. When toy freeze them, lay them out as flat as you can do the will fit in the pockets and will be more comfortable to wear. I still recommend it, just know what you are getting into.

I ordered this for a group of healthcare workers that are having to stand outside in the mid-summer heat of the desert in full PPE doing covid testing for 8 hours. They can't use the evaporation jackets as it would leak through their PPE and wouldn't work... They said the vest was helpful and hope to order more soon. The packs had to be rotated out fairly often. Filling the packs is a bit of a pain (why I took one star off). You are supposed to insert the faucet head, but all my faucets were too big. I was able to hold it open and get the water to go in, but then it also puffed up with tons of air and that would not be comfortable. Finally figured out that I could use an old turkey baster to fill with water and just had to be careful to stop squeezing before it got to air.

This vest works great. The price is amazing, considering I see these types of cooling vests for 5 to 10 times the price. I wear this vest underneath my disposable coveralls. They really cool things down for 2 to 4 hours. Even when the ice packets melt, the water remains cold for an amazing amount of time. The past two days i had hot in the high 80s. No sweat. Today is was mid 80's and extreme humidity. I stayed cool in both instances. I have air conditioned coveralls!
