CAT Fuel Filter Adapter for 2001-2016 Chevy/GMC Duramax Diesel

I have the same filter adapter from another supplier on my 2002 GMC Duramax. I liked the ease with which you can install the Cat filters relative to the stock filters. The Dat filters are a better filter than any of the stock filters and the performance is enhanced The best part is that my cost on the Cat filters is about 40% of the cost of the stock filters even with the discount that I get through my business. I put this adapter on a 2004 GMC Duramax that I recently purchased. I installed the adapter and a new Cat 1R-0750 fuel filter on the truck two evenings ago. It is a bit slow trying to get the inlet and outlet fuel lines off the housing. Once that is done it was quite easy to get the unit assembled and back one the truck. I found that they could have done a better job of describing the modifications that are needed to the main filter housing to which the adapter attaches. If they improve the instructions I would easily give the adapter a 5 star rating. I took the truck out for a test run after the installation and it was a remarkable difference before and after. I thought the truck was running OK before hand, but with the new filter it really brought the truck alive. Don't hesitate to buy this adapter. You will love it for a lot of reasons.

I am pretty picky about what goes on my truck, so I was a tad hesitant in ordering this. However, this does have a brand name associated with it, and is a brand I have used before with a good experience, so I felt I would give FGT another go.Upon inspection, I was pleasantly surprised however. This adapter is high quality.The threads were all very clean, and properly cut. The orings were not dried out or anything, and the unit came assembled, which is different than the picture might imply.It was easy to thread on to the factory filter head, and the cat filter also threaded on with ease.It was also quite foresightful of them to include the small dimples all around the exterior of the product. I used a appropriately sized hex wrench inserted into one of the holes to fully tighten the adapter to the filter head. Worked great, so the adapter will not back off when changing filters.Afterwards, I read the instructions for kicks(it is a pretty simple device) and of note, it says to use a screw driver or smooth end of a drill bit to tighten with those dimples(it calls them through holes). Getting the adapter on tight should not be an issue if directions are followed.All in all, great product for a great price. For the cost of a usual filter change, I got an adapter and a filter with better filtration, and my next change will be 1/3 the price. It just makes perfect sense.

This worked flawlessly on my 2002 lb7 Duramax. Made of solid aluminum. Easy install in 20 to 30 minutes. Does not come with filter, does come with all required O-rings to install. Would recommend buying a $7 rebuild kit for the filter housing since you already have it off. Mine began leaking after I reinstalled the housing and had to remove it again to rebuild.

Great product, great figment, but be sure to read the instructions if you’re using this on your LMM! Almost sold the thing after my truck was gettin no fuel. Then I read the instructions and turns out there’s slight “modifications” to the fuel filter housing to make this product work! Very happy with the product after the “modifications” were done!

Great product, very easy to install,took about 30 minutes. I bought the fgt spacer kit with the billet bleed screw separate. You will save $20 if you buy everything separate instead of the whole kit with the filter. Would recommend it to anyone.

Just installed your adapter kit. I should have ordered the spacer. Used flat washers as recommended. Worked ok, but will order the spacer. Ran cat engines for years, so know the quality of their filters. I'm sure this system is far superior from GM's. Thanks for a superior system. Mike

I found this product to be junk should have bought a sinister diesel one it’s worth the extra money this is the second time I have used this adapter the first one I ever used was a sinister diesel one worked awesome I go to put this one and go through all steps truck would not run thought it was the fuel filter base so spent 200 dollars to get a new fuel filter base and had to buy shipping as well and still nothing I finally installed an a new factory filter another 60 dollars and started up perfect no issues

Had on my truck for about 4 months and truck runs great. Just follow the instructions and it's simple. Save money on OEM filter and replace with cheaper but better quality filter
