Handy little gun for smaller projects, easy to use, cleans up well
This gun is for jobs too big for an airbrush and too small for my bigger HVLP Fuji guns. I have a lot of HVLP experience with furniture and I knew I could figure this Paasche gun out quick. This Paasche gun is goos quality and just big enough for small projects. I even use it for custom knife handles - it make quick work of a custom Japanese knife Wa handle.I recently bought a live edge 46x11x1.25 inch Bocote slab to make a table for behind my sofa for use at parties and sports events. It will see a lot of wet glass bottoms and food and I needed a tough, waterproof finish. This little gun is ideal for water based poly that is waterproof when dry. After the live edge table project, I refinished a mid-century modern Lane end table using the same gun and it also looks great. It’s difficult to get good results brushing water based poly, it just won’t smooth out and be brush mark free without a ton of wet sanding with 600 grit paper between coats.I’m near Buffalo, NY and NO ONE in the Bills Mafia could jump on the live edge table and not get wrecked - Bocote is tough stuff!I used Varathane water based spar urethane exterior finish. I thinned the Varathane down about 20% with distilled water and strained it before use - I go by “eye” when thinning.I have not had much luck brushing the Varathane in the past - it always leaves brush strokes that require a lot of sanding even when thinned with water or with Floetrol.I’ve used Purdy brushes for poly, various foam brushes, all manner of rollers and nothing gives a better finish than spraying. The 3 ounce cup on the Paasche gun was ideal for one coat on one side. I gave the top side 5 coats and the bottom side 2 coats. I let each coat dry for 8 hours and sanded with 600 grit paper, tack ragged and laid down the next coat. I ran about 20 PSI on a small Senco compressor. Gun pressure can vary widely by the liquid being sprayed. The slab came out perfect - see the photos. Very happy with this little Paasche gun! Hope that helps.PS - always wear a respirator when spraying, even with water based finishes.

Great sturdy midsize quality airbrush!
I love this airbrush, it’s a workhorse! I recommend getting the spatter or stipple cap for nice controlled effects. I do a lot of special makeup over prosthetics and this works great for some of the layers, different skin textures and washes.

Great Cerakote Gun
I bought this as a back up gun for my Cerakote Business and I was very surprised at how well it sprayed and ease of clean up. I will buy a couple more because it works very well for the price.
