1/2" Tubing
This tubing is truly 1/2" ID, slightly smaller than most other brands. So, even if you use RainBird brand barbed connectors, it's a tight fit. I found I had to heat the tubing slightly (easily done with a benz-o-matic torch) to fit the joints together. Having done this though, I found I had very secure connections. And let's face it, the RainBird connectors (L's and T's) are a lot cheaper than most other brands which mostly grip the outside of the tubing. Another tip: tubing came as a roll, which means its "memory" made it want to curl after unrolling. I found this curl difficult to manage when I wanted to lay the tubing down a straight row. With temps. here in the 90's, I stretched the tubing as tight as I could in the sunshine between two trees, then nailed both ends to the trees. Next day, I had an "almost" straight 50' length.

Love this watering system
This year I created 100's sq ft of flower and vegetable garden around my house, and from the beginning added a watering system using the Rain Bird dripline, this has worked perfectly, my grass may be brown from the lack of rain, but my flowers are blooming.
