More clean up than fun
So the idea is that the ball is filled with catnip and the cat can bat it around having fun playing with this toy as it skitters across the floor. One bat and the ball came apart and all the capnip came out. The cat was occupied rolling around in the catnip for a few minutes. Then he chased half the ball around until it got caught under the furniture. The catnip that comes with this product is in a little zip close type bag. It must be good stuff because the cat then turned his attention to the garbage can where I disposed of the packaging. He made a mess of himself and the garbage so I took out the packaging and put it on the floor where he then played with the packaging for a few minutes. I don't think this is a very good product although based on the reaction I think this may contain high quality catnip. The toy does not stay together with or without the catnip. Once broken apart it appears that only half the toy is fun to play with. I have not yet seen the cat have fun for hours as described on the package. This is more of a 5 minute distraction followed by a 10 minute clean up.

My cats love this toy
We've had this toy for over a year and my 3 cats love it. Every once in a while I give them this toy before I leave for work in the morning and when I get home I usually find one half of it on the floor somewhere. I just take the found half and put it away until the other half shows up. And it usually shows up a few days later. The cats love both halves of it since it slides across the floor unpredictably and unlike the the little rabbit fur mice, they dig this out from whichever piece of furniture it's hiding under and keep playing. I keep all of the kitties' toys in a big airtight jar that I dumped the catnip in. So all of the textile toys are infused with catnip and for this one I just pinch a tiny amount into it before I toss it to them. The halves come apart when the cat whacks it across the room and it hits something hard; it seems to stay closed on the carpeted area and takes longer now to open than when it was newer.

Crap
This product is basically a ball that splits apart into two halves. You're supposed to split apart the ball, put in catnip, and screw the two halves back together, trapping the catnip inside. The cat, theoretically, is supposed to bat it around. However, the two halves don't screw together very well. After my cat played for 10 minutes, the halves broke apart and catnip spilled all over the floor. From then on every time my cat tried to cross the living room she started going nuts. I highly discourage anyone from buying this product - its quality is really too low to be on the market at all.
