Excellent study guide
This is a great companion to your schools Pharmacology textbook. I am a Nursing student and my textbook comes at me from the perspective of physiology of disease, with prototype drugs for treating that disease. This study guide focuses more on the drugs themselves and has just enough additional information for you to get a well grounded understanding of the different drug groups. I also use Lehne's Pharmacology textbook for a very in depth understanding of the physiology of disease and the drugs used. All three of these give me easy (Lippincotts'), medium (Pharmacology Connections to Nursing Practice - my schools textbook) and "hard" or more chemical understanding of Pharmacology. Can't go wrong with this book!

reference for med students
great book for any 1st and 2nd year med student. easy to read and to follow. lots of pictures and end of chapter questions. there is lots of bullet point facts but it is in a paragraph form. definitely not a book for the Step 1 review even tho it is a review book as it does contain lots of extra info and doesn't highlight what is important. this book is a better as a reference during first 2 years of med school.

Good reference.
It is always good to have a back up reference book in this digital age. There is something about holding a book that gets the job done. This is an excellent resource to quickly go over Pharmacology before you start googling things. Thanks for reading.

Excellent!
This book is very simple and very structured at the same time. I am in a nurse practitioner program and was able to choose from 4 text books for the pharmacology class I am taking. I bought this and Rang and Dale's. I ended up keeping this one. I like the fact that it kept everything very streamlined and structured. Great diagrams. Highly recommend.

huge fan of the print edition; now also like the kindle version
I recently updated my "pharmacology: illustrated review series" by Lippincott from the 2nd edition ?2002? to this 5th edition-- but on the kindle. The fact that I was able to purchase it at steep discount-- approx 1/2 off-- (medical reference texts were the "deal of the day" recently) helped that purchase. It works well with the kindle fire (1st version). The graphics/tables are sometimes "smooshed" or "fuzzy", but still readable (you can double-tap to expand to view). Anyway, it was a timely update for me-- a hint: monitor the daily deals around the time of "new semesters" (September, January, for example) to be more likely to catch those "deals of the day".

Wonderful book. Have been out of coding since 1998
Wonderful book. Have been out of coding since 1998,and am doing a refresher for ICD-9 CM. Medical Record Technology school--altho. the best--did NOT teach us coding! Clinical practice experiences were less than helpful! We learned on the job in the1980s and 90s with those killer DRGs, and it was sink or swim! Wish I'd had such resources then! I'd never even heard of CPT before my 3rd and 4th jobs (in hospitals). We were also never taught pharmacology or pathophysiology! Pharmacology looks hard or something not thrilling to read. I am also learning ICD-10... Thanks a million Seller! And authors! You are all terrific! Amazon.com is amazing!
