This is a good book, and it is refreshing to have a selection of moths rather then butterflies, but it plods a bit in the middle, and there are too many negatives before the rather predictable transformation ending. As a nursery nurse I am well acquainted with many of Julia Donaldson's books, being able to recite most of them by heart, but this is not one that will roll off the tongue.The illustrations are interesting and complex. As a group we found many other insects and plants that we knew, and it will be a useful addition to lifecycles and minibeast work.I bought the suggested caterpillar puppet, and this did help, as the puppet told the story for me!

My granddaughters both love this book.

The grandchildren wanted to know more about moths as they don’t really like “night time butterflies”, this helped explain more to them. Will also use it in school where I work.

I was so pleased when I saw that Julia Donaldson & Yuval Zommer had teamed up for this book as they’re two of our favourite authors/illustrators. This book is just fantastic. It’s such a lovely story with a beautiful message.

Lovely story, with a good moral point. Missed Alex Scheffler's illustrations, but the illustrations are very good.

Another book for my little grand daughter to love and cherish..maybe a little young at nearly 3yrs to grasp everything but she likes the illustrations...good story I thought anyway!

I love all her books and this one didn’t disappoint plus included was a small book.
