The Very Lonely Firefly (Penguin Young Readers, Level 2) Hardcover – Picture Book, June 1, 1995

I bought the board book thinking it was the same book as the one at the library but was sorely mistaken. Look at the descriptions before buying. I should have ordered the hardcover book. Still a cute book and my kids love the last page which lights up.

It is a fun story that holds our toddler’s attention and gets requests for “Again!” and “Again!” Over and over. Plus it has a delightful surprise at the end!

My son loves the story, especially the little fireflies that light up at the end. I don’t always love Eric Carle books, but this one is great.

I gave this book to my toddler niece after we saw this story as part of The Hungry Caterpillar stage show. Lovely multilayered story. My niece loves the lights at the end.

We used this book to introduce Big Authors for Little Readers. The students loved the visual art and the story. They especially loved the way all the fireflies LIT UP on the last page. It was a bit difficult to hold the button down and maneuver the book to show the students, but with a little practice I managed it!!!
