Elcellent product performs as advertised
I'm a contractor and have used MANY different brands of paint for many different projects. I spotted the milk paint a couple of years ago and kept it in mind. I finally decided to paint the kitchen cabinets in my own home and decided to give it a try. As in all projects the preparation is critical and I took the time to prepare properly. I deglossed, sanded, vacuumed and wiped with a tack cloth. I primed with an oil primer and them gently sanded again followed by tack cloth once more. After all the preparation was complete painting the cabinets was a breeze. This is a high quality paint that covers really well and goes on very smooth. I started painting about six doors and several drawer fronts at a time since that was about all the working room I had. I painted the first coat on one side and with the quick dry time by the time I finished I only had to let them sit a little bit longer before I was able to apply the second coat. I applied three coats to the fronts and only two coats on the backs. Finished off the project with the High Performance Topcoat but that is another review (very good product as well).

My $500 Amazon kitchen makeover
I am so incredibly happy with how my stupidly cheap kitchen makeover turned out. Literally everything was purchased on Amazon, and I did it all myself on random weekends while very pregnant (safely, of course). If I could do it, you can, too!The whole thing (minus the kitchen gadgets--just the makeover) cost around $500 and was chosen for cost, looks, and simplicity of application (very pregnant, very impatient).I'm attaching the before and after images, and I'll talk about the individual part relevant to this review. Here is the list of all remodeling purchases:1. General Finishes Antique White Milk Paint, Gallon + General Finishes Water Based High Performance Polyurethane Top Coat Semi-Gloss Gallon 2. d-c-fix 346-0478 Decorative Self-Adhesive Film, Rustic, 17.71" x78" Roll 3. Brilliant Evolution BRRC135 Wireless LED Puck Light 6 Pack With Remote Control - Operates On 3 AA Batteries - Kitchen Under Cabinet Lighting Love this paint. I'm extremely happy with how my kitchen cabinets turned out. This was a spur of the moment decision, to paint the cabinets. At some point I just couldn't stand them anymore, but getting a new kitchen wasn't something we ever intended to do in this house. I thought about getting new doors for the cabinets, but that seemed like the type of effort no one was going to tolerate. I was 7 months pregnant and reached the end of my limits, and ordered this paint, the semi-gloss top coat, and a heavy duty respirator. Over the weekend when my husband was away, I painted my kitchen; three base coats on Saturday and two top coats Sunday morning.I used a degreaser on the cabinets and let that dry. Honestly, not sure if that did anything, they looked and felt the same after. But well, it says to do that. I then painted them with a brush not really paying too much attention, since I knew it needed at least one more coat (turns out, three total did the trick). Then I painted it again with the foam brush, and that's definitely the way to go. The paint went on much smoother with the foam brush. Finished it off with the top coat (using the foam brush from the start, two coats), and the kitchen immediately looked so much better. This started my desire to fix the rest of it, because my brand spanking new white cabinets looked dumb with the horrible dirty-beige countertop, so I slapped some stickers on it "in the meantime". The floor was just depressing, so I slapped some stickers on that, too. Some more stickers on the backsplash, and I'm so happy with the result! Also, the paint didn't smell bad at all (actually, didn't smell much in general). So that was an added bonus!

Worth every last penny.
Everything you've read so far about this paint, is true. We were terrified to paint them ourselves, but after finding this paint and reading all about it, we figured we'd give it a shot! We cleaned them with a degreaser and only lightly sanded. The paint smoothes itself out, so I didn't have to worry about brush strokes. We put on 3 coats in white, and followed up with the same brand topcoat. Note: paint will chip without the topcoat, but once it's on, it's tough as nails! One gallon of each was enough for our kitchen.

Love General Finish Paint, the best
I love General Finish paint, it is the best to paint furniture and cabinets with. It lays down excellent and and drys fast. You can add water to thin it a bit, excellent paint, my all time favorite and go to paint!

Looks good in the end
Painted dark brown wood cabinets in kitchen. Took four coats and looks great. Cannot do any less than four coats. Paint is very thick and lasts forever even with the many coats. Seems expensive but good price compared to buying new cabinets.

Excellent paint
This is a beautiful paint that covers completely with 2 coats. It is very rich looking. We used it to paint our kitchen cabinets and it worked beautifully. It is too thick (even if thinned down) to spray with a HVLP, but it lays down beautifully and doesn't show brush strokes. This paint is very flat so we did a top coat with General Finishes clear semi-gloss. The result is beautiful.

No Brushstrokes Behind
Kitchen cabinet painting project came out great! This paint is of such high quality that application is almost fool proof. Leaves no brushstrokes behind that results in a finish that is comparable to a factory finish.

Poor coverage
This paint was so ridiculously thick it was like painting with glue. Also used GF primer, and after 2 coats of this paint, it would still require at least one more coat, if not 2. Fortunately, my client wants glaze so will stop at 2 coats. Will go back to my regular latex paints as this many coats, the time and expense of this product, leaves no room for profit on client pieces of furniture. Very disappointed and a great waste of money.
