These switches are for my sons keyboard he is modding. Problem is these dont have a cut out on the bottom for the LED used by his keyboard. So we will have to mod the switches to make them work. They do seem well built and will make it easy to mod them.

Number of sellers here. Mine came from HK Gaming Keyboards and were the genuine thing. I used all ten to successfully replace ten keys that were damaged in a drink-spill accident. These plus an hour of my time fixed the $150 keyboard. If you're going to try it, here's some quick advice:- There are plate mount and pcb mount switches. You'll want the same type.- Get the right post color and the right body color (clear or black), especially if your keys are lit.- If your key body is black with a visible led in the key, you can likely reuse the existing LED from your bad key.The key just holds a separate LED; it's not attached to the key. You need 3mm flangeless LEDs which are not common.- You'll most likely need to have some soldering skills. Almost all keyboards are soldered. Re-wet the solder connections with fresh, leaded solder and then use a solder sucker to remove all solder until the pins are free.- Remove the key and the led. Replace with new key and the same LED, making sure you put the LED back in with the same orientation. If you put the led in backwards, it will not light.Good luck! It can be done.

5 of 10 have bent pins and the little box these switches were stored in makes me wonder if the storage and handling is what caused them to get bent. The small box was packaged in a big box at Amazon with proper packaging material which makes me believe it wasn't the ride to my address that resulted in bent pins.Good luck if you purchase from here**Edit**I got the pins bent back into place. 2/10 switches arrived bent. When they're shipped in only a plastic bag I'm surprised that more of them aren't bent. Maybe they should be sent in bubble wrap. I was able to bend them back at least.Good otherwise.

The switched I received all worked great and were in great condition, only problem was I ordered 90 Brown switches and they send me 70 Brown and 20 Red.

I built a keyboard using cheaper (and easier to find) Gateron brown keyswitches. But they got sticky and scratchy, even to the point of sometimes sticking in the down position, after less than a year of daily use. I've never had this problem in the past with other mech keyboards using Cherry MX key switches, and those other keyboards had many times more runtime on them. So I pulled the Gaterons off the keyboard and replaced them with Cherry MX browns.I'm not sure how to tell if these key switches are genuine Cherry MX. However, they do look and feel like the real thing.

I used these with a custom keypad I made and it works as a switch should work. The thing I dont like about this is how brittle and easy to break the connectors are, now if you used them by dropping them in to a pcb it probably would be fine, but I was directly soldering wires to it and one wrong bump at they would snap off making them useable.

Got these to replace some stuck key switches, and they function exactly as expected. They DO need to be soldered in place, but it's a very simple procedure if you have a soldering iron and solder sucker.
