Lol"I'm not calling you that.""We'll see."Heh. This was quite the fun & steamy tale! Hades will probably still be my favorite, but I do love Zeus eventually, and even acquired more of an appreciation for Poseidon & Ares. ๐Kiera is so perfect for Zeus, of course! I love when they are actually communicating with each other, and the glimpses of his emotions we get to see thru her empathic talent.Olivia is a riot, and I love that our heroines in this series have amazing best friends! Levin is adorable & sheds light on the humanity of the King of the gods. Good times!๐๐๐

Zeus
I really enjoy this series and Zeus did not disappoint. Zane (Zeus) is a high power defense lawyer who may have met his match in the courtroom with Keira. He frustrates and fascinates her to no end. Put up against each other in a murder case, they both strive to win. Zeus finds that he has can't stay away from her and she feels that he is not just an ordinary man.

Outstanding!
I absolutely love how she captured Zeus's attitude. It was perfect! Out of this whole series i think Eros was my favorite because i laughed and loved thru it all. I really hope this isnt the end tho, id love to see aphrodite story... and Hera , athena etc. There are so may more gods to write about. Much love to the Author! Thanks for all you have done

The all powerful Zeus has met his match, in more ways then one.
Considering all we've heard of the mighty, arrogant, obnoxious Zeus, his story was enlightening. Keira, too, was a surprise. I was delighted that I had a chance to know the 'real' Zeus, at least what he was willing to share. I will reread this often!

love it!
Another AMAZING Carly Spade book! I love Zeus, with all of his sassy, snarky, superiority that gets brought back down to size. A fantastic sequel to the series that I canโt walk away from! I love it!

Modern romance with ancient Greek roots
This is the first of Carly Spade for me, and I enjoyed the twist of modern and ancient melded together. Kind of reminded me of Percy Jackson for an older audience (with less mythological beasts chasing main characters and more romance.)It read well as a stand alone even knowing that there were others previously in the series. I may go back and start at the beginning.Zeus as a defense lawyer is pretty funny. He uses his charm in and out of the courtroom. When he has to focus his energy to find a new queen after Hera steps down, he finds challenge after challenge trying to charm the lawyer who caught his eye.

Another fresh and original romance in the most amazing world ever!
Once more Spade managed to make the story feel fresh and new. And that's mostly because both Zeus and his human girl are completely different from the other characters we met so far. Therefore this romance had an entirely different feel and a completely unique atmosphere. What I loved most is that Spade does soften the stories told about Zeus a little, but not too much. Zeus is arrogant and he does abuse his powers once in a while. And yet, I do understand what our heroine sees in him, why she felt challenged by him, why he was the right kind of guy for her. I still bought this story as a love story.

Not a fan
For the most part I have enjoyed Carly Spade's 'Contemporary Mythos' Series. However, I was not a fan of Zeus. I only got about 30% of the way into it, before returning it for a refund. The reason being, I didn't like the messaging the start of the book was sending.Zeus needs to find a new queen, and he knows any mortal will through themselves at him. Problem is, he uses his godly powers to make himself irresistible, he makes the women want him. Which at best is dubious consent. At worst, he is basically using his powers to roofie them. Which is one of the biggest issues I have with the paranormal romance genre. I know I'm a male, so maybe I'm missing something here, but consent should never ever being taken lightly. He also gets his underlings to straight up stalk the female he has set his sights on. and to make it even worse, he uses his powers to get the Keira's assistant to erase the reminder that she needs to fix up her immigration status to avoid being deported. Nothing says I love you more than getting them deported. Now, to be fair, I don't know how these issues are resolved. If Zeus has a moment where he learns to be a better person, or not. But I found this entry to be a disappointment, especially after Carly Spade did such a good job of navigating the power imbalance with both Mars and Hades, and to an extent, the other gods. I even wrote in my review of Mars, that it would have been all too easy to write the God of War as a possessive Alpha Male type.Ultimately, I will have to put Zeus down as a miss, as the preceding books in the series have demonstrated Carly Spade is a more than capable writer. Not for me, but you might like it.

Interesting take.
New direction for a classical character. I really enjoyed the new take on Zeus while not losing key features he's characterised with.
