Works Great! Wouldn't Want To Be Without It Now.
Originally I bought a cheaper Battery Pack from another brand. It was very flacky in getting a connection to the battery that would work. And then, when it was cold or the battery completely dead it would not start the car.So after a lot more research, I ordered this one. I have used it several times as we have had severe cold and the battery was defective. As soon as it is connected to the battery, you hear a click, and that is all you need. No button to press or jiggling the connectors. It is ready to go and it works. After starting the car it is hardly depleted at all. After 3 starts it still shows 96% charged. It feels solid and well built. It comes in a nice carrying case for storage in the car. It is easy to charge with any A/C outlet. I am very happy with this item.UPDATE 6/20/18 - Something went wrong with the internal electronics and the unit would not charge. Gooloo did an admirable job of standing behind the product and offering a refund or replacement. They clearly proved to be the kind of company you can trust for doing business with.

This thing absolutely works.
**UPDATE** 12/17/19Coworker's battery was dead when I came in for crew change yesterday. This thing's been sitting in my car for months. (I don't think I've taken it out since my alternator went bad.) The battery was still over 80%. It jumped my coworker's truck no problem, and it's still well over 80% charged. Has proven to be a great product so far.**ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW**The belt on my alternator recently went bad causing the battery to gradually lose its charge. I used this thing to start my car, with the battery virtually completely dead, at least four times (in the same night). Of course it didn't stay running for long, as it was almost completely dead and receiving no charge from the alternator, but this charger started it without any difficulty each time and still had plenty of charge left to go.I feel it was worth the money as such and feel much better about giving two more of them as gifts to family. It works. It does what it's supposed to do. End of story. (I have the yellow one but I got the red one for a family member as a gift.)My only complaint is that the material of the webbing in the carrying case scuffs up the display on the unit. As stated earlier, I got three of these jump starters, and all three had display scuffing when I received them. I really dislike cosmetic defects on a new product. When I buy something new I want it to look new. I thought they were shipping them like that, but after noticing it got worse after I got it, I realized it was the webbing in the carrying case causing it. (See included images.) The webbing is rubbing against the display as it slightly bounces around in the back of my vehicle marring the surface. So apparently it got scuffed up a little in transit to me, and then even more during transit in my vehicle after receiving it.It puzzles me why anyone would design a case that does mild damage to the product it holds. (I once had a camera case that did the same thing to my camera display. A much more expensive, and therefore aggravating, problem.) It's not an issue, yet, but I could see it becoming an issue over time as progressive scuffing makes the display possibly more difficult to read in the daylight. (Because the scratches will obscure the text and reflect light in odd directions. You know, like a scratched up watch face or phone screen or something.) I've begun putting the unit in a large zip-lock prior to putting it in the carrying case in order to mitigate this. Just thought I'd make people aware of this. You may want to wrap it in a cloth or something before putting it away.I'm also a little concerned that the cable clamps are mostly made of what looks like a rather brittle plastic. I got one of another brand, and though I like that device's design and construction less than this one, the cables are much higher quality with clamps that have a lot more metal underneath the plastic exterior. While it's not currently an issue, I'm a little concerned about their longevity, as the plastic seems like the sort that gets very brittle with age and eventually just cracks and/or breaks apart.NOTE: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. There's some very specific and potentially important information regarding use within. I see pictures of people claiming their units caught on fire or blew up, and perhaps that's true, but I'd not be surprised if they disregarded the instructions or didn't read them at all. For example, after jumping my car my father wanted me to leave the unit hooked up to the battery for a while afterward. But the instructions make it very clear this is not an automobile battery charger, and not to do that due to risk of overheating, etc. People often leave cables hooked up for a while after the vehicle starts when jumping car to car, and I'd not be surprised if some people did the same with this. Read the instructions.

Better features than some other jumpers
I have a total of four jumpers from 3 different companies. This GOOLOO is my favorite. Three big reasons why:1. Larger clamps. This makes a HUGE difference. The smaller clamps are very difficult to attach, require a great deal of strength and don't always get a good connection.2. Super easy to use: Just attach cables. That's it, nothing else. It has auto-detection. Many other models require the cables be removed with each use or endure a flashing light while they're attached. Other models also have a time-sensitive button with different flashing modes that is very annoying. This button is only good for one attempt and expires quickly if no attempt is detected. That means you may have to get in-and-out of the vehicle multiple times. With the GOOLOO, just attach the cables and there's no mode button and no time restriction. The GOOLOO is idiot proof.3. LCD panel: You can see exactly how much battery life remains. Other models have four lights that give a vague range. Does one light mean the battery is at 25% or 5%?I really like the GOOLOO. It just works. I don't need to memorize modes. I don't have to run to beat a time-sensitive lockout. I don't have to remove the cables between uses.Battery life is great. Idle drain has not been tested because all my jumpers get used frequently. I can at least 25 jumps from a complete charge. If both batteries are very cold, it can be sluggish and the drain is higher. If the jumper battery is kept warm (inside), it works quickly with far less drain.Very lightweight and will fit in my coat pocket and hoodie side pocket (but barely in both, without case).Case and accessories are nice. Flashlight is very handy. Ports are covered with soft plastic and clearly marked by function. Many people think this jumper is a joke when they first see me with it but after they see how well it works, they usually want to know where they can get one.

I gave it a second chanceā¦
I am one who does considerable research before purchasing anything (I have been a dedicated Consumer Reports subscriber for decades.) and when I saw the rave reviews of the GOOLOO Jump Starter on several sites I took the plunge. Unfortunately when it arrived and following directions it was a lemon. It would charge but not hold at 100% but dropped to 1% and I couldn't turn it off. Another I read in reviews had the same problem. I tried charging with the AC adapter and in a vehicle to no avail. But having seen it rated so highly on mostly automotive sites I decided to exchange it for another and couldn't be happier. I put it through the rigors of jump starting my lawn tractor (bad battery) and it was flawless. The case is a nice touch and its versatility is a plus. I highly recommend this little unit.
