Good Basic Play Mat
It's simply a thick piece of felt with a design printed on each side. (Chinese characters for north, south, east, & west for Mah Jong on one side, and a Pai Gow layout on the other.) The printing is similar to what you'd find on an inexpensive t-shirt. Nothing fancy, but it looks nice and should last if treated with reasonable care.

should've just spent the extra money on a junk mat. printing is awful, low quality. fold marks are impossible to get out. save yourself the time and money and just buy a proper mat.

Nicely printed, nice thick felt
I don't know how to play real Mahjong, just the matching game. I have a beautiful Mahjong set my mother brought me from China though, so I am determined to learn how to play. This mat is beautiful, and is good for a variety of card games or even puzzles. I don't know how to play Pai Gow at all, although I've heard of it before. I'll give that a try next!
