Worked great for us!
This seat has been a fantastic solution for a house with little kids thru the potty training years. Even our 3 year old could handle opening the lid and then lowering their little inner seat by themselves. It has been great in every regard, and works as advertised. As to the complaints of others that this seat is not waterproof, I really don’t understand the issue. I don’t swim with my toilet seat, and have never had to submerge it. It’s a non issue, for us.For folks who dint know, 99% of toilet seats in the market today are of two types, coated MDF (compresses wood product) or molded plastic. The molded plastic ones could indeed be submerged without issue, but they feel cheap and flimsy. The MDF seats are nice and heavy, and less flimsy, but they rely on a waterproof finish to stay splash proof. This seat has an MDF adult seat and lid, with a plastic child seat.I have no hesitation in recommending this for anyone with young children, as a way to get rid of the usual separate training child seat that ends up on the floor next to the toilet. But I won’t go as far as to agree that you’ll keep this beyond those years by removing the child seat, it isn’t a family heirloom.Buy it, use it for those half dozen years when the kids are young and need it, and then replace it with a normal seat when you’re done with that phase of life. It’s all good.

Horrible seat. Love the idea of a built in ...
Horrible seat. Love the idea of a built in training seat and it is easy enough for my kids to use (if the child seat is already down). It is also easy to install, however, after having the seat for not quite a year and a half, it is disgusting (and I wipe it down with Clorox disinfecting wipes every day, but you wouldn’t know that from looking at it). Whatever coating is on the wooden base seat wore off and became stained with some disgusting black/grey/tan and yellowed marks under the seat from drips of urine or moisture. This is a toilet seat....it should be able to withstand a little moisture. It looks like the seat is 10 years old, not 1. My other issue with the seat is that somehow the top that you sit on has scratches all over it, despite saying that it is scratch and chip resistant. The child seat that flips down detaches, which may be easier to remove and clean in the sink but in my opinion it is not necessary for it to be removable in order to be cleaned easily. I always clean it while it is attached. My issue with this being detachable is that my kids have a hard time with it because they try to flip it down and often times it detaches from the little hinge and then they become upset that they can’t reattach it to sit down quickly while they are about to have a potty accident because they can’t get it back on. Lastly, the hinge on the main seat in its entirety, is plastic. HORRIBLE idea. Ours has cracked completely off on one side and now needs to be replaced-that’s just from my kids opening and closing it. Normal use. The lid will no longer close properly without a lot of maneuvering to get it into place. I’m pretty aggravated because I don’t think I have ever had a toilet seat become this gross, or break at the hinge, or have to be replaced in such a short time. Waste of $50 and I would not recommend purchasing unless the manufacturer makes some fixes for these issues with the hinge, the coating, and the detachable child seat. I have included photos of the cracked hinge, scratched seat, and stains under the seat base. On the seat base you can see how gross the stains look-this is a CLEAN toilet seat but those marks will not come off no matter how much bleach or scrubbing I use on it. Very disappointing and embarrassing when people come to my home and use this toilet they probably think I don’t clean.

Long term durability is a question!
The product worked great for a few months but then all of a sudden one of the hinges broke. Bought it back in April and now it's July. All I did was push the adult seat down so it can lower itself and it snapped at the right hinge (as you're facing it). Trying to see if I can fix it with crazy glue, beause I don't want to spend more money. The one I bought last year hasn't broken yet but the adult seat is becoming looser day by day. Love the concept but I don't want to spend another $42 every three months. The original seat that came with the house was in use for more than three years with no issue. It wasn't kid friendly so I thought I would buy this one because we're potty training. The concept is great but long term durability is of great concern. Two seats... one broke within three months and the other (purchased in Nov 2017) is losing its soft close capability. I would choose another brand till they fix the durability issue.Update: July 18Making this a five star! The customer support is amazing. Called them up to see if they sold the hinges separately. They don't and the representative ended giving me a new seat since I was still under warranty. I hope the hinges last.

DO NOT LAST!
While it works, it's great! I love the magnetic catch for the child's seat and the soft close keeps the bathroom quiet. That's where the good things end.We bought two at the same time for $27 each and used them on both toilets since we didn't really like our original seats. My two girls didn't use the one in the master bathroom much, but it was nice to have it just in case.About 14 months later, the master bath one broke. The left hinge cracked which allows the seat to swivel and the small seat falls loose. The one in the kids bathroom lasted about another year, likely because their seat is hardly ever lifted. I'm the only male in the house, and I try to use the master bath exclusively. The problem is in the soft close feature. The hinge supports the full weight of the seat and lid while it slowly falls down and it simply can't take it, eventually leading to a crack. At $27 each, I was content with just ordering one more to get through the next year or two until my kids won't really need it. I already replaced the master bath one with a non kid friendly one. However, when I clicked to repurchase one from my order history, I was shocked to find that they are now $45 each.Great, so they suck, and now cost nearly twice as much. Hard pass.

Great warranty service
Fantastic well made also has magnet that holds small seat up during regular use.Worth the price.UPDATE: After approx 7 months the slow close feature has stopped working. The seat is solid wood (which is heavier then plastic) and comes crashing down.It is within warranty will update on the experience when I call them.UPDATE:Called for replacement, they were fantastic, sent new seat with no hassles and also said the Warranty is refreshed to 1 year from the replacement date. Was very impressed that not only did they honor there warranty, but also extended it.UPDATE:Called customer services, didn't wait long, they took my info and said it will ship out soon and the warranty is 1 year from the date i receive the new one. Was highly surprised at this since most warranties are based on date of purchase. They just mentioned to make sure no one is forcing the seat down and to let it close on its own, as this will cause it to fail sooner then expected.Overall service was fantastic

Broken
We had this toilet seat for 4 years in total. Within the first year there was a discoloration under the seat that I couldn't remove no matter how much I cleaned it, the paint chipped on the top of the seat and the magnet that keeps the little potty up fell out. Not a huge deal, but recently the hinge that connects the seat broke. Considering how much this seat cost, we were hoping it would've at least got us through potty training both our kids. This seat worked great for potty training, and we will be getting another one to replace ours but we purchased a different brand.
