What worked for me: getting it soapy and then setting it on the concrete ground and pushing the bat down into it. It popped out and shot away the first few times but eventually went in. It may also have helped that I slit one side down a bit, but I’m not sure, and no idea what effect that will have long term.

Q: Can this be used to cover the knob instead?

No. It is designed to slip over the knob and sit on top of it. I don’t think it would stay in place if you tried to have it cover the knob.

Q: How do you take this off?

It is a war to get it on, I couldn't imagine it possible to get it off. Try warm soap water, if that doesnt work, vaseline, but I don't think its supposed to come off. Be a miracle..
