The Vintner's Legacy

As a lover of wine, historical fiction, and California, I've enjoyed this series and was eager to see how it would wrap up. Harnisch does a masterful job of pulling the various threads together, giving a compelling journey to all of our main characters and introducing some new faces and settings. WWI touches the characters in various ways (some very intimately and profoundly), and the level of historical detail included is truly astonishing. I learned fascinating things, like the use of pigeons as messengers by the French troops, and the fact that artists were involved in helping to make prosthetic masks for men who had been disfigured in the war. There's tragedy and loss, but there's joy too, and the tenacious love of the Lemieux family ultimately triumphs. This is a colorful, richly-layered, and totally satisfying conclusion to the series. I look forward to the author's next book!

Kristen Harnisch is an exciting author of the third book in her trilogy: “The Vintner’s Legacy’ follows “The Vintner’s Daughter” and “The California Wife”. The character development in these three novels allows all three to join my pile of heartwarming breaks from recent ,disappointing times. The connections among the stories include wine-making, beautiful people, quick-moving action, family love, wholesome lives, a few tears and many smiles. The heroes and heroines inspired me to look forward to Ms Harnisch’s second and third inspiring books. The geographic and calendar changes in each one, but the aforementioned characters and themes remain. Key events are stimulating and both high and low points penetrate the senses and stick with you as you turn pages. WWI pages are harrowing and electrify the characters who become part of our own family. It is challenging to find novels that are not filled with political or woke causes, one more reason I love these three books by Kristen Harnisch. WPH
