Q: I need this for a window in shower window is right above tub would this protect me from peeping toms ?

It distorts images. So they would see movement but not a clear image.

Q: Why do many people complain that it doesn't stick to the window?

It is simple. They do not follow the steps properly! 1. Thoroughly wash the window. 2. Remove the backing--this can be tedious because it is difficult to get it started. 3. Make sure the window is swiped with a bit of soapy water, get it into every corner. Not soupy wet, but covered with liquid. (I used a dab of Dawn dish soap because it dries clear--in fact, in England they don't wash off the soap on dishes and the dishes sparkle) So make sure there is a little soap...like a tiny drip of soap in a cup of water, mix well. 4. Press the window covering onto the window top down. You may lift it to restart if the bubbles are too big. 5. Use a bathroom squeegee to smooth out the bubbles, from top to bottom. It will not peel off until you want it to do so. My windows all look lovely! I little good prep time will insure that your window film sticks properly. I absolutely love my windows and people comment on them all the time. I hope this helps... Great product!

Yes, you put the smooth side against your window. I would definitely recommend cutting it a little bigger then smoothing it out. I used a little bit of dawn dishes soap/water mixture in a spray bottle.

Q: What way does the sizing go like it the 17in is width or in hight?

Whatever works best for the window size. One window was tall so 17 inch went the height way. If your window is in longer width the 17 inch can go that way. The flower pattern can work both ways.
